I listened too, and I didn't think anything seemed bad. Kaitlyn seems to watch these teasers and not the full thing and forms an opinion. She gets very sensitive in these things. I think she needs to take a beat before responding on these things, so she regrets less.

Come on guys! Maybe you've never been in a long term relationship with someone you loved that ended in a not great way... I give her a free pass on this kind of stuff. The whole world is looking at what they are doing under a microscope. No one seems to think it's ok for her, or any of these people, to have feelings ever! I think it's great that she's HONEST & REAL online! Have you ever sat there on your phone & blindly stumbled upon a few minutes of your ex chatting it up about something that appeared to be a mean girl chat about you with people that you consider friends? She probably didn't watch it all bc she was too hurt or angry from what she thought she saw, and then she backed out of the video bc she probably got really upset really quick!! It's not like she assumed a horrible thing and then she instantly went on insta and posted an angry video! She didn't even say specifically what she saw or why she was upset!! That's a normal reaction! Should she maybe have watched the whole video before responding, maybe 🤷. But if it's already bad for her mental health by seeing only a brief snippet, why would she go back and watch more?? That's the literal definition of what she calls "shopping for pain"!!

Pot meet kettle 😬 The problem I have with KB is she sets standards for other people that she doesn’t follow herself. This was seen on her interview with Chelsea from LIB as she supported Chelsea’s hypocritical behavior. Dr. Honda from Psychology in Seattle discussed BPD and anxious attachment markers (not diagnosing them from afar of course but using it as a jumping off point). Other than that she’s freakin fabulous. I do love how open she is and I hope she learns to give others that same space that she fights for.

Wait, I didn't understand some of what you wrote here. Did this psychologist say that KB has BPD? I don't remember KB coming out saying she had that Dx. Did she? About this video & her getting upset, I don't think it's about a double standard. I think she saw some of it and got hurt. But wouldn't you be upset if you saw people that were your friends for a decade seem to have a mean girls conversation with your ex?? I would!

Hi Amy! I apologize that my comment came off unclear. No, KB has not shared that diagnosis, nor did Dr. Honda diagnose her nor Chelsea. As a therapist watching a show it is unethical to diagnose as they have to follow strict DSM questions and guidelines. As far as to why I brought this point up, it’s because I see Kaitlyn exhibiting behaviors that she expresses distaste for in others, hence the “pot meet kettle” start to the comment. It’s totally fine to disagree. Just sharing my thoughts as a viewer.

It makes me feel concerned when I see or hear people bringing up Dx's that could simply perpetuate stigma about mental illness, particularly when it's about a Dx that already often carries a very heavy stigma still!

Women routinely discuss their past failed relationships on podcasts, but it always seems to become a problem when men do. We want men to be more vulnerbale but when they are they’re criticized for it because some woman got their feelings hurt. We have got to stop the double standards, you can’t have it both ways. Men’s vulnerability usually centers around their relationships, same for women. If women can go out there and publicly dissect what went wrong in their past relationships then so can men. There are real men with real feelings on the other side of women’s past failed relationship stories, so needless to say, there will be real women on the other side of men’s failed relationship stories. As we push toxic masculinity out of society, there will be hurt feelings for women when men start talking earnestly about their feelings like we women already do. If we want men to be honest emotionally, then we’re gonna have to toughen up and hear what they have to say. It goes back to the old adage: be careful what you wish for 🤷🏻‍♀️

I think for Kaitlyn tho, Ben and Chris were in her life and good friends of hers for much longer than Jason has even been in Bachelor nation. Her season was 2015 and Becca's season was 2018. Both her and Chris were open about their close friendship and Ben made it to top 3 on her season. It would be different if this podcast was Jason, Blake Hortsman and Joey---or any two men who don't have a direct relationship with Kaitlyn. I can understand that it is painful because he is now a bro with her male friends talking about their relationship. And I agree with everything you said about making space and encouraging men to share and open up. I think though, in this situation, besides what I mentioned above, for every comment Jason makes, Kaitlyn gets assaulted with hate and he is elevated as some perfect species of man----its unfortunate that by trying to breakdown the patriarchal boxes that men are forced into, it comes with a whole side of unleashed misogyny by women to women.

They’re both public figures who got famous from being on a dating show, you know as well as I do that one of them was bound to open up about this 4 years of their lives sooner or later. It just happened to be Jason that did so first. He has got to be allowed to talk about the past 4 years of HIS life too, this isn’t only about Kaitlyn. Jason spoke about what HE learned from that experience and didn’t even badmouth her if you listened to the entire podcast. Any backlash she’s getting, if she is getting any, is totally about nothing, it can only be from unhinged lunatics who should be reported and blocked. Those people are who’s to blame for their words, Jason isn’t.

From your comment it looks like you may not be familiar with just how much horrible hate Kaitlyn gets and has always gotten. It is rampant and it is very very ugly. Jason, on the other hand, does not receive that. For every comment Kaitlyn gives, SHE gets the backlash and Jason gets the support. He knows this because he watched it through their entire relationship. Bachelor Nation is known for its untamed misogyny. I am not saying Jason is to blame, but he is keenly aware of how bad the backlash will be for her no matter what he says. There are people whos identity is "I despise Kaitlyn Bristowe" He can say whatever he wants, her mental safety is not his concern, but this is the reality she lives in. It is very easy for a stranger on the internet to say "any death threats, taunts to unalive yourself, vile hate, shaming and unhinged messages should just be reported and blocked" but you cannot flippantly say that if you are not a people pleaser receiving hundreds of these kinds of messages weekly---you don't get to tell someone how this impacts them. So it is all a very delicate balance tbh.

I tried at 1am the other night to listen to that episode But I had the volume on really low because I didn't want to wake up anyone. However, anytime that Rachel or Adam spoke you couldn't hear them AT ALL & I'd have to turn up the volume. But then when Hannah or Matt spoke, it was BLARINGLY LOUD!!

I have grown tired of listening to Jason for some reason. To me, everything seems to be about money to him. He now has financial freedom and can do what he wants because his relationship with KB got him the attention and book deals etc. I felt cringy when he talked about this huge elaborate wedding and wanted it paid for by sponsors who would get advertising for being a part of this big party he wanted.
