In a way I feel like being the Bachelorette has actually been good for Jen. In the real world, she probably would’ve dated Sam M the second they kissed. She would’ve been stuck in another toxic relationship. But her seeing Sam M next to guys who actually care about her, see her, and want to get to know her and are just genuinely good people has really opened her eyes. If Maria or Daisy had been the bachelorettes, I seriously think Sam woul not have lasted past night one. I get the impression that Maria has a lot of emotional intelligence, and I think Daisy seemed to have a fair amount as well. I think they would have seen through his Chad energy a lot sooner than Jenn. Jenn seems pretty immature and naive, tbh, but it does seem like having so many different men to compare all at once is maybe giving her a crash course on relationships, and showing her that there is a lot better out there than the Sam M’s of the world. I also do feel really bad for Marcus, and feel like his trauma is pretty severe, and is being highly exploited on the show, which is sad, and I don’t think Jenn even remotely knows how to handle it or engage with it. I hope Marcus can get some good therapy and find true healing. His story is so sad, and I feel pretty uncomfortable that he felt he had to share it on national tv.

Sam's red flags: (if this is who he is, and not some producer concocted persona) Does not attempt to really know Jenn as a whole person, making fun of the other contestants, making decisions without asking what Jenn wants, inability to express himself coherently, confusing physical attraction with love, unaware how his words could be hurtful, forcefully kissing Jenn in the radio studio at an inappropriate time, seems uninterested in Jenn's feelings, overly focused on himself. Regardless of who could have been the lead, the men were the worst cast for a bachelorette ever. I said this before the season began and after seeing their antics on TV it cemented my beliefs.
