I was born in 1963, the Bachelors were more a soundtrack to my early childhood than pretty much anything else back then as my mum loved them and they were always being played on the Dansette. The Beatles, The Who and Small faces came next as my elder sister was a Beatles fan and my two elder brothers Mods but it was mainly the Bachelors I remember most, wonderful!

Mother played these over and over back then.

I was born in 1973 but my dad had all their records so I grew up listening to them (so much so I know the backing vocals). Took him to see them for one last time (and my first time) in 2018.

Ooh, ooh-ooh-ooh, ooh-ooh-ooh Ooh-ooh-ooh, ooh-ooh-ooh I wouldn't trade you for the world Or the pearls in the sea (pearls in the sea) All the treasures of a kingdom That's not what you mean to me You fill all my sweetest dreams With a love so devi-i-ine (so-o devine) You're like precious gems and spices It's so wonderful you're mi-i-ine I love your tender lips My heart is at your fingertips I love the starlight in your eyes More than you will ever realise I wouldn't trade you for the world Or the heavens abo-o-ove (heavens above) I have heaven here on earth dear Since you've given me your lo-o-ove I wouldn't trade you for the world Or the heavens abo-o-ove (heavens above) I have heaven here on earth dear Since you've given me your lo-o-ove... Sheer proof that the musicians of yesteryear showed brilliant talent with just their voices alone. They didn't need a myriad of instruments, just the the basics, and their voices did the rest in perfect harmony. A delight to watch and listen to.
@junebendell38827 жыл бұрын
How do we share these to face book. ? please
@ianmedium5 жыл бұрын
Now to achieve this perfection most of the modern pop “singers” need to be auto tuned to death. Add I. Production values that were in analog and you simply get pure artistry. What they rave about now would not be fit to mop the floors these people walked upon!
@ianmedium5 жыл бұрын
June Bendell June, if you are on an iPad or touch screen when you touch the video you will see an arrow curving to the right at the top of the screen, touch that and a pop up will appear, to the far right you will see “more” touch that and you will see the Facebook option. I think on none touch screen you should see that arrow on the toolbar. If not simply copy the URL at the top of the screen and paste it onto your Facebook feed, hope that helps!

But I sure do. It received a great deal of air play over the Rediffusion (a radio station, with a monthly fee of $6.00, popular in Hong Kong, Singapore and Malaysia way back in the 60's) and, if I remember correctly, it topped the Top Tunes of the Week chart. Another group that was popular on Rediffusion then was The Honeycombs who topped the chart with Have I The Right. Oh, what memories!
