I got one of these this spring with BNSF paint, I wish I got two. I got into the hobby years after aristo stopped making the dash-9 so I can't compare, but out of the box the bachmann worked perfectly. I installed a blunami dcc card without a hitch. Its now my go to locomotive because it does not derail, the lights look great and with the blunami...it just works and sounds like a beast. Can't say enough good things.

Very nice, just wish that weren't so expensive. G scale is just getting to expensive but I do understand, but it is unfortunate nonetheless. But thanks for making them again and keeping them available. I hope others come too.

I just hope this drives the ridiculous prices people want for the old ones, now that the new ones are selling for or less than the used ones. It’s a terribly expensive hobby to get into. For now these diesels remain on the wish list.

What is the price point for the Bachmann units?

@@chloenobody9309 $1400. Which gets you an analog model without sound. For the same price you could get a P42 Genesis or DL-535 from LGB with sound and DCC preinstalled and a higher level of detail, or two USA Trains SD70MACs with sound and smoke and a higher level of detail. Not trying to steer you away, just mentioning it for comparison purposes. Bachmann's pricing for these is WAY above the curve for how they're equipped.

My only gripe with this model is that yall painted the nose grab irons on the csx dash 9s yellow, they shouldn't be yellow, I'm a fan of every model yall have put out of the g scake dash 9s though and love mine a lot. I need to paint part of my end handrails on my NS dash 9 black, the whole set is yellow and the middle portion of the end handrails should be black. I'm not a rivetcounter though, the bnsf dash 9s are gorgeous and seem to be the most prototypical out of all of them, but I grew up seeing NS trains every day so I'm an NS baby I guess lol
