eh. Here's one that's under the radar. Trident (the OG) LTS Tiltration. Sick saturator! On sale now for £25! And the CB9066 EQ is good too! (pro tip: The "Loud" knob on Tiltration is effectively a smiley curve up/down control - the manual says it's gain compensation, but it sure is not). IMO the trident overdriven sound is one of the nicest for mixing.

Whats the main difference between the "Islandser" and "VariS" which is better for which job?

Islander is VariMu and a Clipper.....Varis is Pentode or Triode....so both good for mastering compression and processing... I prefer the Varis but both are great.👍

The Islander sounds better, more open, this could be good for guitars, I just shot out the trial against the Isanlder I already have, the Isander is more Open, Punchy and better on Transient Detail, matter of fact the Islander sounds as good as an Acustica Audio Compressor to my ears

Varis is definitely different! It's more for 'reigning things in', while the Islander is more transparent. If you're mix is good, I'd go for the Islander, but for garage stuff, I'd start with Varis.

Do you think it's got 85% the same algorithms as the islander??? and mostly just very different saturation and UI?

The way it reacts to transients and the general compression action itself is completely different. So no, the only thing close to Islander is the UI. Everything else about it is completely it's own unique thing.

The "engine" I built for Islander was the starting point for Varis, but oh boy... It took a good 6 months of changes and tuning to get it anywhere close the VariS! They both share a few parts, but with different tunings, and some stuff needed to be redone completely just for this. Two different units, two different plugins!

Can you guys please take off or dramatically lower the sound of the marker/chalk writing noise? Hearing it makes my blood curdle. It’s like listening to someone grab styrofoam with their fingers. I love your videos and this would be such a relief. I watch you guys on repeat every day.
