Ya i had one in the day. Drove the bass players nuts.. lol. (no bass -then- crazy bass) and the more beer at FOH the bigger the bottoms looked and sounded ok. I think i even melted a old QSC one night... Opps.

One attribute to these plugins, any of them that usually is not talked about unless it's really CPU heavy.... Is how much CPU it takes to run that plug-in. Obviously the computer makes a huge difference on this... But it would be helpful if there were a mention on these reviews on how CPU intensive it is. I have purchased plugins in the past that when added... The latency for everything goes sky high, which kind of makes the plug-in useless if you're using it in a mix environment. Maybe a scale could be created... One being very CPU friendly and 10 being really heavy on CPU usage. It would be interesting if you could incorporate that into these reviews. That's my two cents 😊.

Good plan....but too many variables I think...mac vs PC...rosetta vs silicon...m1 vs m2 vs Intel....all make a huge difference and some are heavy cpu on some processors and light on others....always get a demo is the best way to know. Fwiw...this is very light on my m1ultra mac studio in logic.👍

Why do you need low latency while mixing? I'd understand it for playing instruments etc.

@@jonl.b7168 maybe they meant production instead of mixing. Or maybe they're like me, someone who tries to do both at the same time. Btw I know it's wrong, but I just can't help it. Producing songs turns out to be such a long process, I always end up trying to make it sound good while in the middle of it

@@stepans2167 What I've found is usually that if it doesn't sound good before mixing, it's because I've chosen the wrong sounds to begin with. That also means that making them sound good is a horrible uphill battle. The mix of sounds is probably the most important initial mix. But I know what you mean! It's very easy to get into details and mess around with small stuff long before the song is done.

Worth a mention. These particular (fx) plugins go on sale a ton most often as a bundle but sometimes half price individually as well.

Aural excitment by big bottoms, what's not to like? Btw, once you're their customer, prices tend to be really friendly. I paid 49€ for the 2 new plugins by upgrading to fx bundle 5. Admitedly - I won't use them ever as I don't mix but hey!

I still have the hardware. I always found just a little hint of it mixed in goes a long way. Low end gets out of control in a hurry, and on things like snare, it gets a really odd/ugly tone if you’re not careful. Having that output eq is brilliant

I swear I watch these videos for the reviews... Sorry about my nose picking comment - I'm of a similar age and have the same problem (sometimes compounded by ear hair, too). I have been to the actual Fraggle Rock lighthouse (in Cornwall), so that has to count for something, right? 👃👂💡🏠

I had an Aphex 104 with BIG Bottom. Technically I still do but I have no idea where in the world it might be. Beware lending stuff to famous people ... 🙄 I found that the cost effective way to have Arturia stuff is to wait for deal time then get the lot, either in one go or dealtime by deal time. Updates come along and the sting ain't so bad because you're already a 'loyal' customer. I think the FX Collection 5 update cost me €49 👍
