(Almost) Every Musical Cue: (Spoilers!) 0:00 In this scene, you mostly hear the banjo's friendly and familiar tone, but when you listen carefully, you can recognize a violin playing in the distance. 0:11 Huey, the most childish and straightforward character, is highlighted with a woodblock: A childish and straightforward instrument. It's quite subtle, but it accompanies Huey throughout the entire series. 0:31 These drum hits are always really subtle 0:35 The woodblock (again) 1:00 The Banjo/Violin combo comes back for Corn's first appearance in the episode (more about this later). 2:15 These bad-ass drum rhythms come in, not only to score the bloody and high-energy game but also to the scenes at 2:26. 2:48 I LOVE this drum hit. Along with the hard cut to black, it makes Corn's injury much more impactful. 3:41 As the group turns their heads towards the cave, a chilling violin string is played, magnifying their unease. 4:27 The violin/banjo combo comes back again. The banjo plays these unnatural-sounding arpeggios, even getting slightly distorted. As the banjo fades out, the violin takes center stage, leading to the big reveal of the...you know. 4:45 I'm having a hard time giving this noisy drone a short description. It sounds icy - almost mechanical sounding, like a prolonged scraping of two metal pieces. 4:52 The banjo comes back in (???). It doesn't seem to play alongside the harsh droning noise, but rather playing *against* it. I think this reflects how Corn isn't scared of what lies in the water. I mean - this isn't his first encounter with it (you may remember EP 29 "Creep in the Night" when Corn meets this same entity in a dream) 4:55 The Violin joins for a short moment to lead us up to the cliffhanger. Of course, this wouldn't be an episode of No Evil without a cliffhanger (I'm not complaining, though). Also, you know how Corn has become so friendly so suddenly? I think the music gives us some clues as to what might have happened. After re-watching the series for the Nth time, I noticed how closely associated Angel is to the violin. Particularly in her first appearance, "Brom Bones," where she brings life to the pumpkin-headed skeleton. Although I'm not sure it's intentional, even her voice sounds like a violin (particularly her laugh in Episode 33). In this episode, I feel like the violin is playing for a different character, especially when Corn first appears in the episode at 1:00. I think Corn might have been "taken over" by Angel. His voice and inflection sound just like hers.

Theory: Corn went in here after he was spooked by the bow. Something in the water switched bodies with him, hence why when his body is knocked out (Or maybe because it drew blood) we see a brief glimpse of Corn’s conscience in the pool (as that weird rainbow creature) and again when the moonlight hit the pond. When the others were putting their blood in the water at night, that was the water creature’s attempt at trying to make Corn “go away”, since it would usually work with the creature itself. Fortunately, this doesn’t work. Also, the scene he’s knocked unconscious (with the spooky hand grabs) and the scene the red ick made the black one go away a few episodes ago (when the water rose up to the sun) made me think of the egg they had to use to get rid of the ick near the beginning of series. I thought that was really cool!

it has been about six years since ive seen this series. i forgot the name and how to find it sometime ago, but i never really forgot about the series itself. specifically calamity-- i always had an image of her somewhere in my head. i happened to come across a picture of huey yesterday, however, and it helped me find this channel again, and im really happy it did. you've all grown a ton since the first episode, and i think that's absolutely lovely. im so happy i found this again, it was such a nostalgic trip for me to watch what id seen and what had come out (which was a lot). i can't wait to finally follow along with this, after six years of trying to find it

At 2:34 you can see something in the mirrors behind Calamity. I think it's the entity we see at the end of the episode. What it is I have no idea but it's still freaky seeing it so close by to Calamity.

_"...It feels so strange to me, being alone here again. First time around, there was wildlife about to make noise like they do in the woods back home- birds and bugs, things like that. The kind of noises you always expect to hear in the stifling heat of summer, cicadas crying out their tired song against a chorus of blackbirds calling, and the wind passing through so many treetops while drying leaves scrape together in unison to form an orchestra of white noise._ _"The graveyard is so quiet, now. Not even the wind really makes a noise here, anymore. It must be a sign. We're poison. Evil. We're so bad that the animals have left us, like they fear a wildfire. Even the earth here knows how putrid we are, cursed to foul the soil like so much salt that nothing will ever grow here again, and nature flees from us even in death._ _"Even in simply honoring the memory of my friends by laying them to rest, them whose lives feel so... _*_wasted_*_ on this farce of a journey, it leaves some kind of permanent scar upon the land in their wake. No part of this situation is fair, but least of all to them- they could have just as easily stayed at home and had normal, fulfilling lives surrounded by the people they cared about most in their entire world, waking up to breakfast, coffee, whatever their hearts desired.._ _"Instead, they died here. For me... all for a song I still can't find, a voice I have yet to meet in person and likely never will. All the accomplishments of their lives, everything each of them had ever done, just...gone. Even if I don't have the disease, I can't go back to those people and curse them, too. They don't deserve that. Nobody does. No matter if I have no symptoms, I could be a walking plague battery just radiating with an invisible death that floats on the wind.... no matter where I go, I have to be a ghost._ _"I had wanted us to migrate together as a tribe of nomads, wandering into the frontier wilderness with no particular destination or end goal in sight, content to leave indigenous civilization to its own devices. If we were lucky, maybe we would have found an ocean. We would have flourished on the coast. Build a few boats, forge our own little fishing hamlet on the shores. That would've been good._ _"I'm sorry to leave my friends here like this, but the view is nice. Pretty. And it's peaceful. They'll be fine here without me for a little while...._ "...I don't think I'll stay."

Did anyone else notice that Corn's reflection was already shadowy? You can see it in 1:21, 1:47, and 2:01. Also, I think their jackalope is dead. Something REALLY weird is happening here, and I'm beginning to think that the kid will be integral in stopping it.

2 months? Really? I was expecting to suffer longer waiting for the next episode and you give it in two months. THEN you give us a cliff hanger worse than the last one. Brilliantly played.

Soon I'm gonna watch them all back to back again with someone, just need that someone. Years ago I watched it with two 8yo little girls, both have moved out of my life. We had a fun all girls afternoon watching these at the business I took care of them at.
