I would go about every 50 feet and put a sheet of paper over like you did and just poke a hole with your finger pretty much exactly like you did!! Pump in!! Awesome content my friend

So in an upcoming video from this same site, we have determined that the caution tape is very likely too strong and is what has been causing the plugs. To be continued… 😁

Don't use mortor. Too much sand, its supposed to be made into a paste and falls apart with the texture you want for priming. Straight cement powder is the go for us. You can make it thin or thick as you want and add some sand in a bucket from the plant if you like but not too much
@canadianconcretepumper19794 ай бұрын
One of these days I’ll try this exact setup on this same job site with straight cement powder and see how we fair.

Definitely think their where a couple of factors in this process being unsuccessful. I’m in owe in how y’all got that through 2” hose with all that rock.

Honestly, these mixes have gotten much rockier in recent years. It surprises me too 😂😂😂

I'm from Dublin IRELAND and when I'm pumping downhill I double the amount of grout we only use a 25kg bag of cement but if going downhill I double it . We only use Cement for Grout. And say hello to my Budy JEFF from Muddy Feet he sent me over some Hat's and tee shirts and jumper's a year or two ago and every time I where his Hat or tee shirts I get asked about it Here.

Jeff is one of the best dudes I know. Just a really solid guy. So we tried Jeff’s recommended mortar mix prime at a recent pour here (exact same setup). Stay tuned for they one 😁

@@canadianconcretepumper1979 I've never used mortor mix here in IRELAND I just use Cement and we Run 4 inch Line to the pour area then 3 inch flexible hose because some days our mix's can be rough and pour cream chould pump it Tru any size Hose but we can't take the Risk of running small line and using 4 inch is hard on the body. Pumping concrete since I was a kid and I'm 42 now and I feel it.

Hey Scott, I bought a small roll of cheap poly at Home Depot, plenty of plastic for the plastic bag trick.

That’s great advice! Going to try it in an upcoming video 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼

We need to develop a special camera filter which makes us pumpies look 6.5’s instead of 4’s 😂😂😂

Good day Sir. Awesome videos. Can you assist me with a problem we having with the putzmeister 36m boom pump. Normal pumping in number 7 is fine. When faster pumping is required number 8. The change over jams after pumping about 2m3. Reverse pump and start pumping again it does the same thing. Any idea as to why this happens.
@dannpriebe4 ай бұрын
Your need a LED light bar on the pump so where you play mixer driver you can tell how fast the pump is going 😮
@canadianconcretepumper19794 ай бұрын
Fortunately this guy pumps about as quick as molasses runs uphill…..
@dannpriebe4 ай бұрын
@canadianconcretepumper1979 maybe he was scared to crank it because he didn't have confidence that the guy filling the hopper would be able to keep up. 😉

Yard of grout no problem
@canadianconcretepumper19794 ай бұрын
Absolutely the best, nearly 100% effective way to do it for sure! Unfortunately, the ready mix outfits aren’t super keen on tying up a truck to deliver just one yard of material out to these relatively remote locations, and the contractors usually ain’t too hot on paying the close to a thousand dollars it would cost to get it out here 😂😂😂
@bradleym.20084 ай бұрын
Hey Scott. I didn’t see it on this video but on your bigger pumps you have what looks to be a door mat hanging off the hopper. Is it a door mat? I’d like to put those on my pumps
@canadianconcretepumper19794 ай бұрын
Yes, I’ve actually been asked about those a lot. They are standard requirement in our market (otherwise ready mix can/will refuse to back onto the pump). Maybe I’ll do a quick video this week showing/explaining them in a little more detail.

What about a portable mixer he could mix a hopper full grout then start mixing concrete?

In a pinch I used some of that grout in a 4” line job about 80’ no problems but I’m sure the 4” is way more forgiving
@canadianconcretepumper19794 ай бұрын
I’m becoming convinced that Jeff over at Muddy Feet has such great success with mortar mix because he’s using all 3” line. We gotta get him into some 2.5” and see what he’s really made of! 😁

as someone with zero pumping experience whatsoever, I keep seeing this job and wondering, why pump from the line pump into the hopper on the boom pump instead of right into the deck pipe? Seems to me like it'd be easy enough to pump right into the deck pipe and run it like a placing boom instead of a boom pump, right? or is there some other reason I'm not seeing? just lookin to learn a bit since I've never ran a pump!
@mitchelldake72034 ай бұрын
It looks to me like he's pumping thru 2" line, the deck pipe on a pump is 5". The difference in diameter being so great would drop the pressure and make lots of air pockets, in my experience anyway. You can absolutely do that with a 4" hose or 5" hose.
