I can see why they are overvalued, limited run of a genuinely impressive v10 car. I think that while people knew the car existed, they didnt know much about it, and the 350k pric tag would of been offputting, especially when you could get a ferrari or an aston or lamborghini for way less money.

FUN FACT about that exact LFA... in Costa Rica used to be two Lexus LFA, this Orange and one in Red. These cars were made for the same customer (the owner of the Location of Toyota Costa Rica), who actually spec them with fog lights. These cars are the only ones which have that option. That means that this LFA and the red one, are real unicorns (The red LFA still in Costa Rica)

@@rohnnyjotten3985 many know that the engine was developed by Yamaha but only a few know that it is based on Toyotas F1 Engine, thats the reason why it's a V10, although their F1 endeavour was forgettable, it at least produced the engine for the LFA.

That's actually a tough choice, because current prices here in the US pit the LFA and 812 GTS almost what and what. Glad all my money is currently going to build my new house right now. Hopefully one day soon both will be in both of our garages. 😂😂😂

In the UK, an 812 GTS is about half the price of an LFA. Market differences can be crazy!

I would watch and LISTEN to every second of every video ever posted about an LFA... There isn't a video anywhere on the LFA that I haven't watched at least twice. It's a hero car for me, and I'm sure many others. Especially in this coming era of electric cars with no sound or soul. The LFA will be a testament to the sound and passion of special ICE'd automobiles.

There's a big discrepancy between display prices and auction prices for LFAs. Had a quick look. LFAs on the market mostly €800k to €1m in Europe, but January 2023 in Arizona auctioned for $675k, January 2023 in Paris auctioned for €750k, November 2023 in Munich €660k. One Nürburgring sold for $1.875m in Vegas (November 2023).

Auctions are hit and miss though and not a real reflection of price only what people who knew were willing to pay. If someone wants one they will will pay. They have been selling for well over a million euros in europe, they don't stay on the market long and the best ones often go direct from collector to collector

You don't drive an LFA to win races or take it out to be the best looking car out there in the streets. You drive this thing solely for yourself. The nimbleness of that thing, that incredibly smooth V10 and of course that unbelievable sound it makes both from within and outside the cabin. This is the car solely when you just want to experience the bliss of driving. Good on you Shmee!

Tim, 10 years ago I got to shoot that same Yellow LFA at Lexus/Toyota training center and I was told that prototype was in fact the same car from the "Pitch - The Pursuit of Perfection" Ad when it was white. They said it was painted yellow a few months later.

Yes, there is! Good spot! It is the antenna integrated in the windshield. A few car brands used to do that.

Lexus of Brighton in Melbourne has had a Yellow LFA in the window for years. Never been in, just fleeting glances. New down under I think it was a $750,000 price tag. Not seen one on our roads. Lovely car.

@@Shmee150This drive was so amazing to see. This is the top 3 best cars in the world. Other being the Carrera GT and F50. Having said that you totally should sell all the McLaren and a few others to get yourself into this masterpiece of engineering before it goes up in value again. McLarens and Lotus will never appreciate to the extent this L.F.A will. The V10 is a symphony.

Base price on that exact LFA you were in was $375,00 + $1,500 delivery fee. I can't believe that he was able to buy that for $599,000 at auction back in January of 2022 with only 9,400 miles on the clock. He got an awesome deal and was able to get ahold of it at the perfect time to watch it go where it was and is in the market.

354 LB-FT of torque is actually not much especially compared to 553HP! It only feels quick because it's just 3200 lbs plus good responsiveness! Ultimately a Lexus badge and a bunch of sound isn't worth 1M!🤔

For me the LFA is my second dream car 2nd to a 918 because for my childhood, those cars were icons. Seeing and hearing the engine for the first time at the end of Fast and furious 5 was just such a badass moment. I always felt like from that point, I HAD to strive towards getting one. Along with a 918 being my main goal too. I will work tirelessly to make these dreams reality. Cars like these make life really special for me

Of the 64 Nurburgring Performance Package cars, 32 were left-hand drive and 32 were right-hand drive. Of the 436 cars built to standard trim, 238 were left-hand drive and 198 were right-hand drive , hopefully you can get a RHD one Tim

I'm a lexus fan and a huge petrolhead. I love how this LFA sounds and the mad engineering tour de force involved to make it as it is. But somehow I kinda do apreciate more the cars that "happen" to sound great as a consequence of their build, that have no purpose in sounding great but they naturally do so. An now I'm gonna talk about my unicorn: The Ferrari F50. That thing is N/A V12 porn, it's spartan, it's rough, it's a freakin F1 engine that made it's way in a road car. It sounds MENTAL not because someone thought so but because it just... does. For that reason I kinda appreciate the Carrera GT also- it has a racing derrived engine that just naturally sounds good. That said, I'm waiting for two cars to happen in the Shmee collection: this and the F50 which we all know Tim loves :)
