Upgrades are always exciting, I love the whole process of researching gear and then finally deciding and testing out new toys

What a fun trip - that spot looked great. That big horizontal branch would have been great for a little swing! Another use for a hammock?! Thanks for taking us along.

Thanks, I'll have to keep the swing concept in mind

As you know, I love the hammock set up. Best nights sleep in those. Great location and so accessible. Shame about the idiots that spoil our beautiful locations - the downside of accessibility.

Cheers mate. Sadly, you are not wrong on the accessibility comment

nice little overnighter cool overhangs . hammocks are great imo . check out the DD hammocks . great quality great value for money . I've done heaps of mods to mine . i've been meaning to put a vid up about the mods i've made to them . if you can manage with your hammock to string an internal ridgeline you can then use that to hang heaps of stuff off . comes in pretty handy . happy camping !

Cheers, I'll check out those hammocks. I don't need an actual ridgeline with that tarp, but no reason why I couldn't rig one, I've definitely seen people use that method and it seems handy.

@@campfirejesus I meant a ridgeline inside your hammock above your head where you sleep on the inside of the fly mesh . if you can manage to rig a bit of paracord or something there . yeah a ridgeline for the tarp will give you some more options too

what gaiters are you using , are they snake proof and light ?
@campfirejesus4 күн бұрын
The gaiters I was wearing on this trip were the Sea To Summit Quagmire gaiters. I doubt they claim to be snake proof, but they are a heavy canvas and would likely offer a good level of protection against things like Eastern Brown Snakes etc

@@campfirejesusI use these as well. Had them for almost 4 years and they are still going strong. I lost one of the press studs but quickly and cheaply got that replaced at a shoe repairs.

@@AlexsAustralianAdventures The press stud issue is quite a common one. My pair are very much on their last legs and due for a replacement
