Hey Darrin ! a month ago with no wind in my 71 bus it went 92 mph out in the country ? The things I have done all it has done is made it have more rpm . 1600 dp 32/36 carb Engle W100 cam , j pipes with quite muff , D port heads with matching sling shot intake runners . What I was looking for was low end power . I have a CW 4140 crank with balanced con rods and Mahle pistons . I sub you so long ago after my operation , watching you kept me going .

i stay away from doing work at my age BUT no matter what when i am in my garage if my pain is controlled i enjoy it ,,,,,riding is nice we love it now raining season coming is here and i have to watch out for the rain ,,even with a kind of bimini top we have to pull over if its raining very hard i have a bigger tarp that covers the whole thing and WE WAIT LOL ,,,,,,see ya on the next ride down your neighborhood ,,,,,i need to show you something anyhow ,,,,,,,later ,,,,,denis

I would love to try to make it out to California it would be a honor to race with those guys. I think David is amazing and what he is doing is simply awesome. I do not know if I can be competitive with those guys it takes a lot of money which I do not have lol . I am going to try to make it out there and Go to a race if I can make it happen

@@vwdarrin yea those guys on on it....Davids car is set up really good. Also Geers engineering car is super fast. David has not even run his on the dyno. So I was talking to him to see if his finish RPM is in the power band. Geers is much faster but david outdrives him. And his car suspension and tires are pretty much on the money. He is running it on the dyno really soon want to see the graph....Then I was telling him to match his 3rd gear to the power band. Shifting out of 1st at 9300. second at 87....On pump gas. Incredible. 265hp. estimated.

i installed red empi bushings on my spring plates not knowing any better at the time ,,,,,20 years later they are still SQUIKING A LOT ,,,,pain in the ass ,,,,,i think this will become a hobby of the past unless you like chasing part and what have you ,,,,,thanks darin , hope your new job is helping a little ,,,,,later

Little off topic but I need an answer from someone who actually knows what they are doing. Im converting a 66 to a dual circuit master cyl. I can't find new residual pressure valves, so salvaged some and got them working. Now I discover that new dual circuit master cylinders wont take the valves. ??? Glad to see you up and around.

I do not have a lot of experience with new disc brake set ups. But I was a line mechanic for 15 years working Air cooled VW‘s so the only time that we ever saw this brakes were on a Carmen Ghia or a late bus and type threes they never use the radius valve from what I understand it is supposed to hold pressure I really don’t understand the theory behind it enough to help you out have you tried just taking them off

my 66 beetle needs that crack near the door latch fixed as well. So Im guessing I just weld the crack back up and replace the rusted out heater channels or is there something else to repair to stop it from cracking

those darn things been making noise since i installed them years ago and i lubed the hell out of them and i did not use OIL PRODUCT i used a powder and they are juts noisy ,,,,EMPI = JUNK PERIOD

Hey Dennis just go to Home Depot or Lowe’s you can pick one up you will have to get it in PVC until you can order the right cab it’ll keep the rain out and let you drive the buggy though lol

@@vwdarrin well i texted you on this now i am on utube so i checked your channel ,,,,as far as the gas cap tony at fisher buggies showed me where they got their parts to help make a buggy gas tank etc etc ,,,,MARINE STORE is where mine was made by they had ONE LEFT LUCKY ME but its made by PERKO MARINE ,,,kept the package it came in ,,,,,have i not found this it would have been a f,,,,,,,job to get this right
