Food is Glasgow is depressing. Thats why so many of us like going Bradford/Birmingham etc for nice food. Im glad you showed chai wala at the Quay it really is a shambles of a place. Dont get why desis always pack it out.

Because there is no were else to eat and folk in Glasgow don't know any better! Got fed up so much driven down south for a meal too! Now they go in their truck loads to Nandos - Quay.

@MaintenanceKV one of the biggest reason we drive down south is better food. The problem in Glasgow has always been catering for a non Asian palette. This unfortunatly makes our food poor in authenticity nothing to do with "us not knowing better" saying that there are a few hidden gems in Glasgow for food. So maybe next time you won't have to go to nandos.

However majority of Asians aren't going to make a 600 mile or so return trip to eat something that tastes genuinely good. My comment as 'not knowing any better', I believe is true (high percentage) as all their life they have been eating this mediocre food. They are 'numb' to understanding there is better food out there. What we need is a radical change in Glasgow, a Michelin star restaurant that delivers quality food. Not just food also nice décor, toilets that are clean and kept up to standard. You might laugh, all things matter when the foodie comes to review your place. You have to keep that high standard as your going to loose your customers plus new clientele aren't going to give a look in. Not something that opens up then in a few weeks is run down. Majority of these places are run down shambles. They serve greasy / oily food with spices / masala to disguise their cooking inadequacies. "...saying that there are a few hidden gems in Glasgow for food." Where are they- names please. I can tell you now there is none to the standard of food places down south.
