Really interesting post - I can appreciate how tough it can be to sell your services. Proposals take a lot of effort and usually, there isn't a lot of time to do them; everybody and their dog or cat has to provide inputs and then review the docs and of course they are always late. It feels so good when you land the contract though. Best of luck.

Barrett, it is so good to see you back in Japan! It would be nice to invent a nanodrone that could follow you unobtrusively and you wouldn't have to speak as loudly. Maybe next year.

Yeah that area isn’t as crowded as places like Shibuya or Shinjuku - definitely enjoyable!

Can you make more videos about packing and what not to wear in japan? Thank you, you're videos are so informative. We're going in November to tokyo to fukuoka.

Thanks! I talked about summer clothes a while back and talked briefly about spring in a recent video. November is a great time, probably my favorite! And Fukuoka, I'm biased because I lived there but I love that place!

I’m always curious about Sangen-jaya. I know it’s kinda close to shimo kitazawa and I wonder if there’s something interesting to explore as a tourist. Anyway, love these kind of video!

Thanks! Yeah it's an interesting area, lots of little bars, shops and what not. I stayed there once on a trip before I moved to Tokyo.

There is a free observation platform and a cafe on top of the carrot tower.

The cheap vegetables make up for the expensive fruit. Is fruit in Hawaii cheaper than Japan?
@barrettish
@barrettish Жыл бұрын
I think it depends on the fruit. Tropical fruits are cheaper for sure, but it’s hard to say about others especially with the current exchange rate.

What's the masking situation in Tokyo nowadays? It looks like the passersby in your video are about 50-50?
@barrettish
@barrettish Жыл бұрын
I’ve noticed it can depend on place and time. It’s more 50/50 like this in main parts of the city, especially at night when people are out drinking. It’s higher in Tokyo outskirts. It’s definitely more than 50% if it’s indoors since people will often put on a mask even if they’re not wearing one outside, just because ventilation is less and everyone may be in closer quarters to each other.

I get confused with you name sometimes because I know there is another Japanese KZbinr name Rion Ishida with same last name as yours.

lol well it’s a pretty common Japanese name. Maybe I should change the display name to match my other socials… 🤔

Damn thats alot of graffiti, gives me warm fuzzy feelings of nyc in the 80s, whole trains covered in graffiti. I'm 6'-2", tokyo, Taipei and Hong Kong are my nightmare, I can't stand shoe box accommodations. I'll pay extra for the room but over time that price racks up.
@barrettish

haha yeah there is graffiti here and there in Tokyo. 6’2” is a bit over the “feeling comfortable” height for sure. I noticed counters and sinks in homes are pretty short, I think they’re made with Japanese women in mind.
