Theres no lack of variety in you finds on this hunt Greg, Theres a good chance you have enough railway spikes to build a track in your back yard, or possibly around your neighbourhood. Very interesting history on the coin tokens. Who would have thought that detecting would teach us more about history than we learnt at school, well at least for me it has! Cheers Greg!

I wonder if, someday, it would be worth an episode where you had TWO piles, one of all good stuff, and one of all the junk, only so that viewers could get a real look at metal detecting… showing that not every signal is a treasure, but under the junk is all the good stuff. You allude to it occasionally Greg, but a clearer understanding that old is under new might keep a newbie from quitting. Just a thought. Great as always brother.

I appreciate the feedback. Actually, I mention finding trash pretty regularly when I'm out there especially as I am constantly advocating that people should dig it all and the advantages of digging all the trash to find the treasures. Glad you enjoyed watching this one Charles.

I loved playing when it was just us kids, because as I aged, playing with adults was NO FUN. ---Interesting info on the lipstick tube. I bought a dresser at an auction about 15 years ago that had your drawer pull on it. It was original furniture for the Hotel that they were going to tear down. The Hotel opened in 1925. Unfortunately, someone like Mary from Storage Wars had gotten their hands on it through the years and the original Maplewood had about 8 layers of paint on it. I will never understand covering beautiful wood with paint which should be used for covering drywall.

How many pull tabs do you dig? Some of the parks we go to - sounds like machine gun going off from them. I don't dig them all.
@FindingAmerica
@FindingAmerica 10 ай бұрын
I dig a ton of them Jana! When I say I dig it all, I mean I dig it all. LOL Now, if I am in a newer park then I am not gong to be digging it all in that type of location but I probably wouldn't even be in a newer park unless the land it was on had older history. When I am hunting parks it is usually an older park or one with history and it's in those type parks that I am going to dig every single signal. The reason I mention the VDI numbers on my channel is so everyone watching the hunt can realize that so many of the cool things that I find in these locations often fall into the trash and especially into those pull tab range of numbers. I also mention them so people can see just how far iron and trash near a good object can draw those numbers down from the good item's normal VDI number. Thanks so much for watching Jana! ATB Greg

Out of focus and off center does happen sometimes when you are out in the field, covered in dirt, tired, sweating, trying to see what you found while trying to speak intelligently about it and excited over what you just found while holding the find in one hand and the camera in the other. I do my best out there. Take care and ATB Greg
