I think staying on the Kennet and Avon for the winter is a great idea, I remember how you struggled with getting water last winter and how you battled with flood water too. You should be safer on the canal, this winter seems to be promising to be a wild stormy one. Beautiful video footage as always, I’m so glad you’re back, I’ve missed your regular vlogs. I could tell you were both weary by the end of your journey to and on the canal. Have to side with Miles on the "watering point" versus "watering hole". On my side of the pond, a watering hole is a bar/pub. But, whatever floats your narrowboat. See what I did there?

Hi,get some luggage scales to weigh the gas canisters with,that's what I do! Empty is about 16kgs full is about 27kgs I use butane gas in the winter,worth a try

Just curious, how does pouring water on the gas bottle allow you to say how full it is?

It was hot water, so if there was any gas inside, by touching it after pouring the water on the cold bits would indicate the gas level 😊

Yep we left the canal in Spring 2022, stayed on the river for 18 months and just came back onto the canal 💜 xx
