Narrowboat living in the heart of the waterways

The log burner might be on for us right now, but I really hope you enjoy this look back at how Spring went. This is when things really started to get ✨picturesque✨. We're back off the grid and moored in Braunston and loving village life again - featuring lots of spring cleaning and little jobs, a family of swans who took over our lives (they're in it enough that they probably deserve an executive producer credit), sheep antics, a quick jaunt back to London, and lots of wholesome countryside activities (not including the impromptu hike in the dark). And pints.

Hi, do you find you’re having any issues with the length of the boat at 70ft? I know there are a few areas that you can’t access due to lock restrictions, but how are you finding it generally? Great vlogs by the way….we’re exploring options 😊

Hi Jon, No, it’s been absolutely fine. Apart from the parts of the network you can’t access, the other thing to consider is cost because most things are charged per foot (licence, mooring, insurance, blacking etc etc). But apart from that, we’ve not had any issues. With the two of us living and working on the boat full time, we knew that we wanted to maximise the internal space so that we had our own areas as well as communal living space. Both of us having our own office areas was an essential and it’s been 100% worth it. So it’s really worth thinking about your current day to day life and how that will translate into the space when you’re looking at potential boats.
