Any way to make an adjustable one?
@michalhala27146 ай бұрын
I would think of a set of loops with the diamond knot as the locking end going back from the buckle on the same strings. Something like the bracelet. Gonna try
@TheWeaversofEternity6 ай бұрын
I was playing around with the idea of making an adjustable one, but I thought I'd start with this one. I'm quite sure I can figure one out using a similar principle to the mad max paracord bracelet. It's just a matter of how secure/tight the adjustment can stay with weight on it. I'll definitely be making a follow up video to this one.
@plywoodcarjohnson54126 ай бұрын
The first report on trying this out: It feels great!!! Until 15 mins. Then you realize you made it to short because you want to keep it tight. So the length is important. But to add to this, I'd like to say that if you simply make a paracord bracelet, three times the normal length, (two times was evidently too short) you can use that as a removable sternum strap, (with loads of paracord, let's say 4,5 metres)
@TheWeaversofEternity6 ай бұрын
Glad it kinda worked out! lol If you do make another one, please let me know how that goes. Also, nice tip about the paracord bracelet, never really thought of that. I will most likely revisit this sternum strap and make an adjustable version.

so fun fact... 'cobra knot' didnt start in paracord, it comes from the scoubidou/gimp/plastic craft lace. pretty much every weave has a totally different name there. also, there are a couple of differences between the solomon knot and square knot/portuguese sinnet. firstly, the solomon knot uses a core, the square knot does not. which leads into the second difference, which is its purpose. the square knot is for tying two ends together, whereas the solomon knot is used for binding ropes/cords together
@TheWeaversofEternity6 ай бұрын
I remember gimp! That was such a 90's thing, really takes me back. And wow! That was an excellent explanation and very informative. I just might have to do more research based on what you've mentioned here and do a video about it. Thank you JR!

@TheWeaversofEternity6 ай бұрын
Ah no worries! These things take time, but we'll be selling more than just paracord like tools, jigs, and other cool stuff. Also, I'm sure you'll run out of paracord at some point down the road 😁

AWESOME !!! Both for the sternum strap, AND for your online store !!! Keep up the great work !!! P.S. Is there a was to make this sternum strap adjustable ??? Maybe with a prusik knot at the rear of one of those Solomon braids ???
@TheWeaversofEternity6 ай бұрын
Thank you sir! You know, I was contemplating on how to do an adjustable version, but I didn't have the time to fully figure it out in time for the video, but at this point I think I've worked it out. I will definitely make a follow up video with an adjustable version. I'll consider how the prusik could be integrated as well, so thanks for the suggestion!

Great video to address a common challenge for many backpack users. It also provides a migration path to make enhanced versions that might be adjustable or add adornments like bead figures. Congratulations as well in launching a new store. Will this store be situated in the US or Canada? Will it offer international shipping? Does "launching soon" mean days, weeks, or months? Cheers, Murray

Another awesome video! One small thing, your shop logo looks an awful lot like a symbol used by certain hate groups, obviously we who watch your channel know you’re not, but it could lead to some confusion
