Back-to-Back ARRMA Notorious V5 BASHING on 4S & 6S LiPo | LVC RC

In this video, I take my 1/8th scale ARRMA Notorious V5 monster truck out for a bash on 4S and 6S LiPo! I rarely drive this truck on 4S LiPo, so it was interesting to run two different batteries back-to-back and see the difference between them.

When I run my 6s RCs on 4s I usually have the speed pinion or one tooth lower and it has plenty of power.

Nice comparison video dude. Yeah I feel the same way about running less cells in the trucks. It’s like tuning a car to 600whp and then going down to 300. Once you go up you can’t go back down. At least for me.

Great comparison. I agree with some of the others, that once you go 6s it is hard to go down. I do however drive my typhon 6s on 4s while on the street, just to save some tires as it has so much power!

Bro!!!! I think I need a 6s battery now.. I had my notorious for bout 4 weeks now with 4s n no wonder y I don’t see the power from this rig.. Yep! A single Power Hobby 6s 5000mah pack. I’m liking them so far; they seem to perform and hold up well. I’d recommend the Power Hobby 6s pack or an SMC 5200mah 6s. Those work well too from my experience. 😄

My final decision comes to a conclusion. I can’t decide if I want to get the Kraton v5 or notorious v5. What are your thoughts on both of them? I’m kinda leaning towards the notorious because it seems more fun to drive.

Both are a ton of fun! If you enjoy flips and wheelies, the Notorious is the way to go. I love the Kraton, but prefer the Notorious. Short wheelbase trucks are more fun to drive in my opinion. The Kraton handles better for general bashing though. Much easier to put the power to the ground. 👍

If I get the notorious, what other things do I have to do to get it setup for bashing. I know you put one shim on the Kraton Front and Rear? Did you do the same for your notorious?

@@laddridgerc3828 Yep, I did the same to my Notorious. 👍 I’d recommend adding an extra shim to the front & rear diffs on the ring gear side and putting a bit more loctite on the pinion set screw. Some like to get skid plates for the chassis, vent the tires, and upgrade the steering servo, but that’s all personal preference.

The arrma 6s vehicles are awesome until you start having differential issues

Adding two shims on the ring gear side really helps with durability. The pins within the diffs definitely do get a little annoying though. 😅

How is it getting replacement parts for the team corally trucks? I'm stuck between the notorious or jambo or punisher! And if I'm spending this much money I don't want to be down for weeks waiting on parts

If you’re in the U.S. and want to avoid international shipping, finding parts for Team Corally vehicles is awful. I’m actually selling my Jambo because of it. I have a final review video coming out soon that goes more in detail. I’d definitely recommend the Notorious, it’s a solid truck. 👍

Why are you running XT90?? trucks comes with IC5 why would you change it? IC5 is much better dont pop out as much better overall connection. next time just get Adapters. Your running old connections on a brand new V5 make no sense brother.

All of my batteries, chargers, and vehicles run XT90. Swapping to XT90 doesn’t affect performance, it just makes things cleaner and easier so I don’t have to deal with a bunch of different adapters. I also don’t plan on using Smart batteries any time soon.
