On the Vicario being unable to control his 6 yard area, I was fascinated by the way Asernal scored exactly the same way against Man City as well. Maybe it's not all Vicario fault. IMHO I see some improvement in this area

I agree. Its not a Vic problem perse.Teams work on how they can neutralise goalkeepers at corners and Woolwich do it in a way bordering on cheating imo.

That’s all Arsenal have in their locker is set piece goals. What they got from open play? ? ?

Vicario is literally Gomes mark 2, absolutely world-class shot stopping but horrific decision making 😂😂

I tell you what I think went under the radar on Saturday. Was that our best overall 90 minute performance with Ange at the helm? I think it was.

The Vicario handball should have been noticed by the linesman. The ref was not in the right position or at the right angle to clearly see he was out of the area. That said, far too much is being made of it. So much so that he too might be affected by the "Johnson" syndrome (i.e. lack of confidence). I do not recall a single glaring error by Vicario which has led to a goal. Can you?

The only Spurs player showing any real footballing skills against Brentford was James Maddison with everybody else it was sheer relentless aggression . Can't see these players being able to keep performing like this before burn out or injury takes its toll.

So glad Simon is on this show. Our fanbase is way too negative and short sighted. I love his optimism and patience as I try to emulate the same point of view

hope you're well, hopefully you'll soon be back to normal, Vic for me isn't a top 4 PL keeper, hes ca good shot stopper, doesn't control his area, hates crosses, he scares the life out of me when facing a set piece, Levy should have payed the money and got the gooners keeper imo

I fear for Richy, I really do. I don't buy into all the injury talk. I suspect that something has happened behind the scenes which Ange (and the club), are quite rightly keeping under wraps. For the sake of speculation, I get the feeling there has been a bust-up over lack of playing time given his well-known emotional issues. He's recently changed his agent (was he pushing for a move?) and Ange has been fairly adamant telling reporters "not to ak him about Richarlison until he gives an update". More telling were the words "he's not with the first team", which might suggest he's training with the youth. Add to that that there has been no mention of the type of injury he's supposed to have, which is usually par for the course in press conferences and you have plenty of fuel to add to the fire. I don't even think he's been seen at the ground watching home games while injured, which is the usual practice. And then the Gyokeres rumours suddenly resurface, who we know is an 80+m transfer. This is all circumstancial, I know, but barring an injury crisis, I suspect we may have seen the last of Richy in a Spurs shirt, which is a pity

Richy is also being sued, after he allegedly left his personal assistant 'physically and emotionally broken' due to a toxic work environment.

I don’t understand Sean’s issue with Ange giving the players responsibility and freedom to make decisions on the pitch. They are the ones playing. A manager can’t micromanage the entire game. We saw this with Jose and Conte. These aren’t children, they are grown men with high football IQs. Ange gives them the structure and ideology to follow, it’s up to the players to combine that with their intelligence and talent to win games.

The abuse Johnstone is getting is a disgrace. Young players tend to rush things at times. He will improve with age and experience. Older players can deal with abuse better as they know the people giving it are fickle and will be praising them again in the not to distant future!

Can someone explain why standards for this manager are so low. Under Conte we sit 4th and people were constantly moaning "we need to play better to challenge Arsenal for the title" Under Postecoglou "back to back wins" we sitting 10th and we won against Coventry (championship team) and Brentford who has half a team injured but people getting excited. 🤦 Postecoglou had more time than previous managers had more money to spend than previous managers but expections are lower. How's that working?
