Hi Keith, I mix and match tires all the time , always trying different tires. I don’t use the 606 on the rear anymore. I run a maxxis Maxx cross it pro 120 100 18 It bites in well and lasts, even with 25/30kg of luggage. I run a goldentyre 216AA 90/100- 21 on front, Awesome grip and lasts too. Try them champion 👍

Thank you for the reminder lessons. The public riding lands of Arkansas USA are closed for hunting season and open up in March. Fresh tires with bite will help me a have a much better ride.

What's the theory for closing them to bikes? Our forests are mixed use all year and doesn't seem to cause any issues. Assume it's noise and getting shot.

What a weapon the 500 is! Maybe a potential upgrade to the WR250R I have, especially if there's no 'unicorn' bike released by the time I upgrade (if I ever do though, since I bloody love the WR)

Hi Keith - Great vids - Love them. If you could only select one front and rear sprocket to rule them all - what tooth numbers would you run. Obviously not the best for every situation but something to allow a reasonable attempt at all situations. A genereic mid-balance if you like.

14/48 is my current default and gives a pretty good mix. It's a bit of a struggle in tight stuff to get going - lots of clutch slipping required - but if you know it's gonna be a tight ride then swap out the front for a 13. That's exactly what I did for this trip, ran 13/48.

Did you have any flame-out issues with your bike before changing to the Vortex ECU and if so did the ECU eliminate it? I'm getting top end flame-out if I fully open the throttle at 60-70kph in whatever gear.

Never had that one. Only low speed flame outs.
