Wow, the infamous "it's over there somewhere I think" job, Brandon. You handled it like a BOSS and have some half-decent dirt to rough grade with. I guess that's a win....lol Work safe, enjoy your weekend too. Doug@ the "ranch"

Another success story, and as someone else said, at least it wasn't raining. Your spotters did a great job of keeping those shovels from falling over, too. I have to ask - did you have to eat the time and work digging the hole to nowhere in the beginning? Thanks for sharing Buddy!
@eliteearthworksllc5 жыл бұрын
Dale Premo lol yeah they are good at that. No I get paid by the hour on these no matter how long I’m there. So the more I dig the better 🤣. Thanks man!

with all the digging for underground utilities, I am surprised I never saw you use the metal rod dowsing method to find any of them. Yes, I know, most people think dowsing is to find water wells or many think it is witch-craft, but it is not. Dowsing is science and real, making the metal rods respond to changes in the earth's density and thus gravity pull. I have done it for years and everyone I showed it to and let it try for themselves, electricians, plumbers, construction workers were able to do it successfully on the first attempt. You can use simply made metal rods to find burried sewers, water supply lines, gas lines, electrical cables etc. Dowsing will not tell you what it is that you are finding, but at least you know something is there. Here is a great video on this topic that is to the point and shows how easy it is to do. Give it a try while checking for lines you know are there (to see that it works) then search for lines that are not so obvious. I am sure once you tried this and got it to work, you will have metal dowsing rods in your truck from now on. have fun ... here is the link to the video kzbin.info/www/bejne/d4jCqXeOedl3o8U

@eliteearthworksllc5 жыл бұрын
Brian Gardiner no but I would like to try one of those. I really need something for compaction on jobs that people actually care about 🤣 do I just google sheepsfoot attachment?

@briangardiner10155 жыл бұрын
@@eliteearthworksllc there is a company that makes a bucket with a sheepsfoot compactor on it so you use the bucket to pull the dirt in the roll the dirt behind it. I think it is made by Felco.

Contractor: "it's over here somewhere", Mr. Elite: digs a hole, city: "move over 15 feet", Mr. Elite: "digs another hole and throws the dirt from second hole into first hole". Lol. To steal a phrase from the movie Cool Hand Luke "what we have here is failure to communicate ". Makes ya scratch ya head a little bit doesn't it? I hate it when people do me like that but it goes with the job I guess. Good job man.

I gotta say those concrete guys are sloppy. There’s always piles of concrete and form boards laying around. I strip everything and rake out the extra concrete. Seems like they have the “next guy will clean it up” mentality, which you benefit from sure.

Looks like you’ve been getting advice from those guys on Oak Island! A dude says that someone says that they heard someone talking to someone who knows that the Money Pit is right over here.... or here... or there! Well, at least you didn’t interrupt service to the seldom used landlines! I was at Best Buy the other day and came across their display of telephones... used to be a whole aisle... now it is two models and buried on the old technology aisle! If it wasn’t for internet, no one would ever know you cut one. It hurts to be old... everything you used to know is wrong!!!
