Back to Riding - 1990 Yamaha FZR400

I just picked up a Yamaha FZR400. Nothing like feeling freedom on a motorcycle with fresh air and new adventure.
I love the 90's look, feeling of an inline 4 motor, and I am looking forward to experiencing the legendary handling of this bike.

I've got 2 fzr400rr 3tj1 both 1991 I bought one loved it so got the opportunity to buy another quite a rare bike in the uk and vin numbers are 3 last digits apart hopefully get on to getting them both up and running as been a while love the fizzers fzr400 just a great fun bike yours looks good with the twin round headlights 👍🤘🤘

there is so much to love about the FZR400! Discretely best looking style IMO. Not showy, not ridiculously OTT hyper muscled design. balanced like a top, cheap to run, easy to work on and getting very rare. But. That. Sound. Harleys have a distinct sound, Ducatis have a distinct sound. But nothing makes the adrenaline surge like that inline four. I have an '85 blue FZR400 which I'm gradually restoring. So much happiness in a perfectly engineered package.

The sound is incredible, and it's exactly how you described it. The bike screams at the higher revs and the funny thing is, the speed is within sane limits. Cheers brother!

The beginning of the Genesis bikes, always liked these. Liked other 400cc inline bikes in that period like the CB1 or GSF400 Bandit, and I have the Bandit 400. I plan to keep it forever, but I wish I could convince my wife to get one of each....... Have fun! Nothing like these 4 bangers that rev to 15K RPM.

Cool Channel, thanks for the FZR400 video. I bought one brand new back in 1990. It was an '89 model. Rode it for years and finally crashed and totaled it. Just bought another one yesterday, same year 1989. Definitely need to put up more video of yours man... to bad its in storage. Aloha!

shoulda grabbed the one i saw cheap. let it go as it had been tracked, no alternator. into 250s, but just found the valves run 4mm stems, same as the 2kr/genesis 250... share the same seals as the 600 as well... silly ideas about seeing if i can open the valves up from the stock 15.5/17 to 18/21 or something... just set up to cut the stock seats, pain in the butt. so freaking small. had to make custom cutters... mandrels... jigs...

I was lucky and found her on Craigslist. The previous owner was passionate about his FZR 400's and had 2 of em plus parts to build a 3rd!
