Q: Do you do these spreads after the week is over?
A: I always film myself creating these spreads before the week has started and continue to fill it out during the week. I collect the footage at the end of the week and do my voiceover which is why everything I say is in past tense! I always prefer to plan ahead~
Q: How do you use so many planners at the same time?
A: Every week, I choose a few planners for me to use so I’m not actually using ALL of my planners every single week! For example, I always choose a planner for me to take on the go, one for academics, one for business, and one that is more decorative and fun. Part of what I do is showcasing spread ideas so that is why I have so different layouts!
Q: How did you learn your lettering?
A: This is a pretty annoying answer but...practice practice practice! I didn’t use a book or a single resource to learn. I honestly just picked up on the different types of lettering through my daily life (things like book covers, posters, etc.) and practiced whenever possible!!!

I do the same with my pen tests; I go to the back page and write on the left side. I think I picked it up as a kid, when I learned about how Japanese books are read (or were read) compared to how I was taught, from when my Grandma’s relatives from Japan would visit.

Tombow recs: I recently got a few new green tombows and I'm sooo happy to finally have some muted nature greens! For anyone reading this I highly recommend : Holly Green 312 (my new fave!), dark jade 177, dark olive 158 (matches the light olive 126 Helen got) and gray green 228. Also if anyone doesn't have asparagus 192, get it, it's such a lovely colour!

@@abbylynn8872 you're very welcome! If you want any other recommendations I can tell you the colors that I use the most or whatever else you might want to know. Over the last 5 years I have gradually grown my collection to almost 70 tombows (all Dual Brush Pens) - mainly via xmas and birthday gifts. There's definitely some I never use though or that look nothing like I expected 😂

I use t binge-watch these types of videos when I was younger! I haven't seen the Sarasa vintage pens with coffee doodles on them before; only mickey mouse doodles, so that's pretty cool😋 Also, I can't wait for the 2022 Hobonichi's to release next week, because I'm getting the Avec version and I'm so excited to decorate the cover hehe! Haul videos are so fun, especially yours Helen because you don't often treat yourself to stuff! (also I feel you on the uni notebooks, I had the same thing happen with my university of Alberta notebooks I bought for school pride, they are really crappy paper 🙈) So glad to see you got yourself some more Tombows, that'll be awesome to have more colours to create with! Btw 991 is "light ochre" so it's def more brownish yellow. If anyone is wanting a pale yellow get 062 it's a beautiful pastel pale yellow.

I have to admit, I went with one notebook for all subjects for a while. I loved the way it worked and made a mark on the side of the page to help index what subject was on the page. Hmm never really thought or tried using Tombow dual brush in my planners or notebook. For next year, I want to go with the Weeks again, and maybe A5 or A6... or maybe a stalogy since I have trouble filling up notebooks.

I always get the kraft post its from Daiso too! When I was taking my accounting and finance courses, I would do practice examples over and over too before exam weeks. After awhile I got tired of all the paper I was wasting, so I started doing them on goodnotes on my iPad. Love the haul by the way, always love these kind of videos hehe

If you want to buy something for school pride, why not get a bumper sticker or something? The notebooks don't seem worth the price, especially if you're not going to use them.

It's a notebook paper thing. I would have more potential to use it for scratch paper or list making or random thoughts. Lined paper you write a note on and rip out to give to someone. Key chain nope.. bumper sticker if they made them small enough for my laptop but never on my car. I'm the same way. At work I would never let someone touch my planners or journals for paper but a school branded notebook. Help yourself.
