I don't normally comment on youtube videos, but I had a few thoughts worth mentioning, perhaps. I watch a lot of popular daily vloggers and before I click on the video I look at the title and thumbnail to see if looks interesting enough to watch that day. I can't stand clickbait, that turns me off right away - I won't watch it. So a few observations on your channel. 1. thank you for not clickbaiting your videos! it's so refreshing. 2. I just really enjoy listening to your voice Kev, doesn't really matter what the video is about I always enjoy your laidback vlogs. You don't try too hard to impress, you are just yourself. My little ones dont enjoy the kids app (and restricted modes) for YT as well, it filters too much of things (science and biology topics we especially noticed a huge chunk gone) that they enjoy. I spend time daily watching everything my kids watch, something that seems harmless can easily turn in to inappropriate for them. Andy ending the vlog is adorable, glad the going back after break went smooth.

I think if you use his date of birthday when making a KZbin account it will put warnings up if the video isn’t suitable . Like you have to be 18 years of age to watch this video and if your KZbin account is dated for an under 18 the video won’t play at all. So it restricts them but isn’t tightly restricted like KZbin kids if that makes sense. I signed up with the wrong date of birth and it wouldn’t let me watch videos they age restricted . Hope that made sense not great at explaining stuff

I don’t know if this is too late, but if Andy doesn’t have his account that is logged into on KZbin, if it has anything explicit in it then you will have to log in to watch it, this will prevent him from watching anything crude, or with bad language etc etc. hope I helped

Heres the thing i don't understand about KZbin. Theres an option to include subtitles in the video so obviously theres some sort of software working in the background that can analyse what is being said. Why cant this software then flag up any content which contains swears and filter it so kids cant watch these videos. Seems something that could be done so easily yet YT refuses to implement. Its nuts.

Simply Lily Erm, no. Have you seen someone die in a film? Did you then go and kill someone yourself? Has Andy seen someone die in a film? Does he now kill people himself? No. Yes, it's more of a challenge to educate him, but it will be better in the long run if it's not hidden from him. Is your logic about keeping him safe, or is it about YOU feeling in control by sheltering him from something that only YOU are privileged enough to do?

We don’t allow the boys unrestricted access to the net at all, I watch alongside them ani any swear words that vid \creator is panned.Even on the laptop in in the living room,we may not have eyes onscreen but we can hear everything,they know which channels they can watch -it’s manly gaming vids ( all age appropriate ) and they do stick to those - it’s trial and error as to who is ‘safe’ no free surfing and random devices which all allow that - if you are serious about this you have to more hands on with his access no magic buttons 😐
