They are known as "One Hit Wonder" in the USA, but everywhere else they're "Every-Song-A-Hit-Wonder". 😁 In addition to various solo projects and live albums, they have released 11 studio albums, so calculate how many hits they had and I'm only talking about the singles they released out of the albums. They often didn't even released their best songs as single. On the other hand, almost every a-ha song is a masterpiece. Sometimes I think they rolled the dice which song should be released as a single 🤔😄

@@dglcomputers1498 The Sun Always Shines On Tv is a much better song than Take On Me in comparison within the A-ha discography) and it earned 1st place on the charts. But compared to the general music landscape of the time, Take On Me was ahead of its time and also rightly deserved the top spot in charts all over the world. This song has a strange charm and almost has its own personality. Unfortunately, the charm of this song and the outstanding video stole the attention from the other, better a-ha songs in my opinion

But you need to react the "Take On Me" MTV unplugged version. Morten Harket's voice is simply amazing Edit: One beautiful song i just heard "The Halo And The Horn", from 2022. This guys are, since the very beginning, simply genius. Morten's voice is one of the best ever, it's like an opera singer that doesn't sing opera. A-Ha is one of my favorite bands ever. This band is out of Norway and while they only had a couple of hits in the United States, they are international phenomenons. "Take On Me", this song and "The Living DayLights" from the James Bond film were their most popular here. Morten Harket has an incredible voice and a sound that is unique unto themselves. This song is off of the album Hunting High & Low, along with "Take on Me". The video for "Take on Me" clearly was one that people were drawn to and remains one of the most iconic songs of all-time, but their music is excellent. Not all of it is hard driving like this one, or synth pop like "Take on Me". Their songs can be deep in reflection and often times slow, using Morten's voice as the primary. Nonetheless, they have some incredible music that you should dive deeper into. Check out - "I've Been Losing You", "Scoundrel Days", "The Living Daylights (James Bond soundtrack)", "Crying in the Rain", "Early Morning". As mentioned, many will not be known in this country but by true fans.

So much to discover with A-ha! My favourite band since I was nine years old (I’m 47 now 😮). Manhattan Skyline is amazing.

Great new wave synth pop band. Their best hit was "Take On Me'", which yall are familiar with, too. Lot of synth pop, new wave sounds futuristic, true. lol

This was a personal anthem of mine during my depressed high school days. Recently my 7 year-old heard it and likes it a lot. He noticed that your reaction video for this song showed up on my phone, and so we watched it together. We also watched a couple more of your videos, and he wanted me to tell you how much he enjoys you guys. 😊

When the backing vocals kick in to a crescendo it’s intense. As you’re doing 80’s stuff give Belfast Child a listen by Simple Minds

Media in the US call Morten (Lead vocals),Paal (guitar, flutes, basically a multi instrumentalist and backing vocals) and Magne aka Mags (Keyboards and Piano + backing vocals) a one hit wonder,as a matter of fact alot of countries in the world look at them as a 1 hit wonder band. Theyr first ever single was Take On me,and that had them conquer the world as the first band coming out of Norway, noone has accomplished the same ever since. But i consider them a multi hit band and quite legendary, still active today and original lineup for 41 years and counting (as of 2023) In the US i know ZZ Top could brag of the same thing, only thing that put a stop to that streak was the sad news about Dusty Hill passing. (Long live his memory!) You want A-ha to really blow you away? A-ha-Train of Thought and A-ha- The Blood That Moves The Body,i consider them theyr 2 best songs. Or if you want to see them with a couple of theyr US shot music videos, where they show theyr out of theyr comfort zone, silly sides? a-ha - Touchy! & a-ha - You Are the One (Shot both in New Jersey and New York) And i know you want to experience a-ha-summer moved on,where Morten gained a place in the Guinness World Of Records for the longest sustainable note in pop music, wich noone has done longer till this day. Still they are soo underrated as a band, any of theyr songs is an absolute masterpiece. If you want a completely different sound from them again,i recommend a song like: a-ha-move to memphis. Its defintly more pop-rock vibed, more UMPF and Attitude lol. You can never go wrong with any A-ha song, and you will learn that "why wasnt this a hit over here, its brilliant!". It still baffles me,and i grew up with theese guys being my favourite band.

The very first notes of this song instantly take me back to my youth, every time I hear it. Amber I'm glad you enjoyed one of my favorite parts of the song where it ramps back up. It is indeed cool as you said. I'm so happy you both enjoyed it!

If you want to see Morten Harkett break the world record for the longest note held in a song, watch a live version of Summer Moved On. The video is fine too, but seeing him hold that note is so cool. He has one of the greatest voices of our time.

Rob Squad - really enjoy your reaction videos. This from one of your "older" fans. Am 63 years young! Great song from Ah-Ha! Highly recommend you react and listen to an instrumental record called "Telstar" by the Tornados from 1962. I guarantee you will never hear anything like this record...which spent 3 weeks at the #1 position. Curious to see what you think....of one of most unique songs to hit #1. Enjoy!!

You're a youngster to me I'm 71, Telstar! That brings back memories of buying a 45rpm single from Woolies or W H Smith, going home and playing it on the Dansette record player. Great days, so much more fun listening to music back then, even if it was only on a little transistor radio.
