Tony's was the spot when I was a kid , I loved Christmas time at that mall back in the day , the roof was opened and it would rain inside , was always so pretty inside, alot of memories 😊

After growing up in Whittier during the 70s and 80s, I recently returned. A nostalgic visit to JC Penney took an unexpected turn. I couldn't find the familiar escalator to the second floor. To my surprise, the store now occupies a single level. While the store itself wasn't “chopped off”, the upper level likely now serves as storage and warehouse space, and would be accessible by freight elevators. The decision to raze the main mall and recess the new storefronts back from Whittier Blvd was a practical one. The south parking lot was underutilized, and the mall's overall decline by the early 2000s necessitated a significant renovation.

Tbh I feel like it would’ve been a much better choice to completely renovate the interior of the mall to get it up to standards with current malls rather than just getting rid of it as a whole

I just found out that George, the owner of Barros pizza has sold the restaurant! The new owners have kept the same recipes and everything. But I have not been there since September, when George sold the restaurant. George was a Whittier institution!

I went to that Woodfire Pizza place over the summer and asked for a personal size pepperoni pizza and he told me $20 I turned around and walked out there's no way I'm gonna pay $20 for a small personal pizza
