Many sambo and judo academies start with that throw because it’s fairly simple and safe.

That is the throw Fedor Emelianenko used against Frank Mir in their fight. Watch how it’s done.
Sambo is a versatile sport because it has large amount of techniques in standing position as well as on the ground. Why can't you throw an opponent who's equal or stronger opponent? There are two main reasons. First - you're setting up and doing the throw wrong, and the second you're predictable and everyone knows your moves. In both cases your technique is flawed and something has to be changed. All progressive MMA fighters are incorporating sambo submissions. It's easily explainable due to limited time on the ground ( 2-5 seconds to catch and another minute to complete ). Sambists research the fastest and most effective ways to finish for years. Why does everyone want to finish fast? It's an opportunity to finish in style and preserve your energy. I know the taste of quick finishes like no other. 25 years in sambo, 13 World Championships in which i earned 2 golds, 4 silvers, 1 bronze and most importantly 90% of my victories happened before regulation time expired. I spent 20000 hours

I suggest guys have your coach when u want to try these, don't attempt to learn these by only watching videos online, don't put your safety and health to risk, it's easy to watch but when you are on the mat it's completely different story, anything can happen especially of there's no coach who will guide you step-by-step

Can be a useful technique in Judo complimented with Sambo's effective NeWaza Completions via O Soto Gari or Harai Goshi under these Sambo Variations

This is literally the first technique you learn in Judo. Or at least it was for me anyway. Judo's has the same Ne-waza transition tactics as Sambo, they have a great deal in common.

@@IvanVasylchuk_silapartera i have a little question. in my learning of judo, i have seen plenty of knee injuries due to bad tries at o soto gari. i always thought its more injury risking that o goshi, for example (wich is more about bad fall technique, from what ive seen). What may be going wrong so its dangerous in my environment, but you comment is safe.

It’s built off of Judo, same as JiuJitsu. Sambo is mainly a combustion of Judo & Wrestling, with some JiuJitsu added to the mix as well. There’s a reason why you see a lot of Sambo Fighters dominate JiuJitsu BlackBelts in MMA, two of the main primary Examples: Khabib Nurmagamedov & Islam Makachev. “If Sambo was easy, it would be called JiuJitsu.”
