This is a good throw to follow crashing an antagonist or ducking under their haymaker

I really liked how you tell to do the penetrating step inbetween the uke's legs. Even if he doesn't counter with a uchi mata or grapevine throw, they can just hook you when you attempt to lift them which is a real pain. Also love the little hip finish, looks like a shallow utsuri goshi. Bet it really turns them on their back even if they attempt to post with their arm.

@@IvanVasylchuk_silapartera I am a new subscriber. I live in Israel now...I used to train with jovany varela (who is a student of gokor chivichian). He had to give me a purple belt in jiu jitsu (gracie,,,under Thiago renaldo). I am still in contact with my teacher who is in California. He wants me to continue to compete (and will continue to rank me if /when I win). Do you ever do any type of seminars (in israel).

Why did they change the rules? Was the throw just too dominant for judo?
@nicocontreras53664 жыл бұрын
@@liamdoes8580 Yes, there are different opinions but leg grabs were very effective but for some guys managing olympic judo were also not very atractive.

@@RobertWilliams-mk8pl Yes but only lifting 😉
@jjs38905 жыл бұрын
With the step in you are rolling your hips as your entire body is lifting not just your arms. There is a moment in the step through where he can be balanced on your hip but then immeadeately dump him. There are other techniques that are easier with a heavier person but with proper technique and body mechanics, this still can be efficiently done!

So he doesn’t need to re learn the entirety of the technique on both sides. Also allows him to catch them off guard with a throw they weren’t expecting.
