Finally. A 2-person tent that checks all the boxes and allows for use of TWO wide pads without having to upsize to a 3-person tent!
@Backcountryskiingcanada3 ай бұрын
The width definitely caught our attention too, we are going to be taking it backpacking as part of our review, so we'll be testing out the spaciousness. Stay tuned for the review and more details on our web site.

There are many tents capable to take two 25" wide pads. MSR plays gimmick since the previous version was too able to accpt two wide pads. And the 26" this guy talked about is 1% of all the available wide pads on the market.

I have 3 MSR Tents and this one combines all the features I wanted for a great summer tent! Love that you implemented a simpler storage bag.

This tent is already on sale on the Rei website. Looks great.

Wow, looks like some big improvements. Thanks for the video!

That is what we thought too, looking forward to testing it out this Fall. I like the easy setup features and I'm looking forward to the increased width and the venting. Although I am going to be testing it in the Fall in the Rockies on the Eastern side where it tends to snow early, so the venting might be a bit of a drawback for a Fall trip.... but then might be less condensation... okay obviously I'm looking forward to taking out for a test. 😀

I love everything except for the colour of the fly. Are they going to make it with a green fly for Europe? If so, when?

Agreed

As a owner of two MSR tents I love the considered improvements, shows MSR have really listened to customer feedback. Question the weights you quoted are they the full 'packed weight' excluding the footprint?
@BackcountryskiingcanadaАй бұрын
Good questions, we will weight the pack independently and have that number in our review this fall.

Those are some nice updates. But when I heard, "we have completely redone the tent" I was hoping they had swaped out the Silnylon for a Silpoly fly - kinda like Nemo did where the Osmo material.
@bs85563 ай бұрын
Nemo did swap out their material for a more environmentally friendly fabric that still performs well, although we have not had the chance to test it out yet but do have the newly revised Dagger OSMO tent coming in the spring for a full review. As far as I know MSR has not changed their fabrics but we will be able to confirm this as we have one and are currently testing it in the field so that we can prepare a full review for everyone.

It would have been nice to see how big the vestibules are. With the 2 26” pads, it doesn’t leave a lot of space for clothes or other gear so the vestibule space becomes critical usable space.
@BackcountryskiingcanadaАй бұрын
Small vestibules that don't quite leave enough room for two backpacks are a pet peeve of mine, so that will definitely be discussed in the review.
@DiabloOutdoorsАй бұрын
Correction: it will leave absolutely NO room for anything else.

Looking froward to trying one and also your review. I'm wondering how much weight it gained.
@Backcountryskiingcanada3 ай бұрын
The weight gain was minimal, a few ounces at most so it will not even be noticeable and a small price to pay for all these new features.

Do the mattresses touch the tent walls? I.e. condensation issue?
@BackcountryskiingcanadaАй бұрын
We will let you know the mattresses we use when we test it, however, with so much mesh I'm thinking condensation inside the tent will not be as much of an issue. We are planning on first testing this tent this Fall in the Eastern Rockies in the Fall. So on one hand there usually isn't a lot of humidity, but we are going to be testing during times of cooler temperature so we should get a good differential between inside and outside temperatures, so we likely will have some condensation. What I am hoping to see that we don't get much condensation on the inside mesh and thit most of it will be on the fly, so little concern with mesh on the lower inside walls.

Do you know specs on the fabric? He mentions it’s a ripstop nylon silicone treated. What is the denier weight for fly vs bathtub floor?

We just got our hands on the tent this week, but don't have the tech specs of the material yet.

Geeze, the guy is pushing so hard that he's running out of breath lol. He sounds like a use car salesman. Now, let's get some facts straight: VENTS They're not bigger. They are the same size as before and they just moved them from the door to each ends. MESH He forgot mention the mesh is now 20D (previously 10D). Therefore, admiting one of the numerous flaws of the hubba Hubba 2023. MESH #2 In fact, they reverted to the old design. Which was much better than the 2023 version. FLOOR He's avoiding to mention it's now 1800 instead of 1200 Therefore, admiting another of the numerous flaws of the hubba Hubba 2023. GEOMETRY How do you set your tent when it's windy? You make sure the narrower side faces the wind. Right? They wanted to give more headroom, however, each end is almost flat vertical. So be sure it'll catch wind like crazy. That's a major flaw. SIZE The previous version at 84x50 was plenty big enough. And let's not forget that most solo people will use a 2P tent. FLY They wanted to shave weight, so now to fly doesn't cover 100% of each end. Bad decision. STUFF SACK No experienced backpacker is using that. Bottom line: They new the Hubba Hubba 2023 is a total disaster but just couldn't admit it by fixing the numerous issues. Instead, they came up with this version, still with flaws. Also, the fact the guy avoided to talk about the 10 to 20D mesh and the 1200 to 180mm floor confirms that MSR knows the 2023 is trash but don;t want to admit it.... And last: What the heck is that grey color??? Come on!.... And MSR has the wost customer service in the industry. So much that I'm about to take them to court... No joke.
