Hey mosh! I just subscribed but I also wanted to give out a tip for everyone. Always carry rags on you, incase your board gets wet in those rainy conditions. It’s extremely helpful!

Currently stuck inside after getting covid the literal DAY before my G2 Black came in today, so I haven't been able to take it out and get some practice with it yet, but as a first time buyer/rider of electric boards it's nice to see someone else having used this specific board to get around as a general full mode of transportation like I'm trying to do with it. I have a very intense phobia of driving, to the point that I don't even like being in cars at all, and I've tried using a bicycle, a cruiser board, and a longboard to try and find a permanent source of transportation to get around my small town, so here's to hoping that this works out for me since it won't have me sweaty and winded by the time I get to where I'm going. Being an adult that doesn't drive and having to rely on my parents to take me to and from places, especially to a job, is incredibly embarrassing but now I hopefully won't have to do that anymore. The point about the trucks is a little concerning, as I am actually 20 pounds over the weight limit recommendation and the roads here are not exactly what I would call Up To Snuff (which mixed with a lack of sidewalks in general and a grand total of 0 bike lanes makes it a bit aggravating even to walk), but I figure I'll cross that bridge once I get to it. All around, nice review! It definitely got me thinking about the Ranger series of boards as well, which to be honest I was looking at more than the G2 Black but only had a budget of $500 this time around.

Hey it’s great to hear from you! I agree completely! It’s not something I admit, but I indeed have a phobia of driving. So I totally understand. I’m also looking into the Backfire Sledge for about 2500 it’s gonna be a luxury board compared to the G2 black, but the g2 black was amazing to start out on and learn on. Have a blast my friend and get well soon!!

@@MoshMob Now that I've been able to take the board out and really test it since my symptoms are gone (thank god for paxlovid, that stuff kicked my covid's entire ass like it was mortal kombat), I can safely say I'm absolutely hooked. At first I just did a few rounds around the neighborhood, then went a little farther once I was more comfortable and tested riding it on the less smooth and more bumpy/unkempt roads (which comprise most of the roads here but not all of them which is a blessing when I come across those smooth, shiny ones) and pushing it a bit harder, and now today I just rode all the way across town to return some library books and had the best time of my life even though it's scorching outside (tbh that breeze while riding in the heat is nice though), so I can 100% say this board has stolen my heart already. Navigating around with people that just don't feel like moving around me on the side roads when I don't really have anywhere to go at a moment's notice is a little concerning, as I had to ramp up into people's driveways a few times when I was getting tailgated a little too close despite being as close to the side of the road as possible so they could pass, but I'll get up to the higher speed mode eventually and figure out which roads get more traffic and which roads don't once I'm a bit more seasoned. Thank you for that little bit of a confidence boost I needed while I was still recovering and couldn't take the board out! The stress of having spent the most money I've ever spent on something and not being able to find out if it was worth it for so long was eating me up inside since this board was seeming like my final attempt at having a real chance to be a normal functioning adult, but after taking it to a doctor's appointment AND all the way across town and only going down one battery peg despite being over the weight recommendation, I don't have too many more doubts. The board gets a little too hot for my liking to the point where I can feel it through my shoes after around 20 minutes or so (though to be fair these shoes are SUPER old and very thin on the bottom so it could just be that), and there's a little divot on the grip tape above the ESC where I can kind of poke down into the board and feel something that feels like I shouldn't be able to do that? But after 4 days straight of riding it I've had 0 problems with riding in the heat so far so I'm not too worried, especially with the 6 month warranty. I've also gotten a few people that said they "like my hoverboard" while I was cruising down the street which felt really nice. All in all I'm happy that I'm this content with just an entry level board and can't wait to see what the more expensive boards from Backfire have in store for me once I have the budget for them. ^^

I just got a G-2 black and so far I’m liking it! I have a Backfire zealot with belts and do love it but I was looking for a hub motor setup and it’s a Backfire so that’s a bonus!😊👍

@@MoshMob I’m pushing 60 years old. I’d have to say my riding style is reserved. But yeah I would have to say that Backfire is at the top of the game. My first board I bought is a single hub motor Amazon cheap one. It works great for what it is. I use it for training purposes. My older brother bought me my Zealot because he thought I needed more power. He’s the best brother! My friend started a group here where I live and it’s been snowballing every since. I’m the top contributor! Pretty good for an old man.😈

With the stress of high speeds, heat and board constantly swerving flexing the material of the trucks are guaranteed to snap. They definitely need to do more strength testing on their trucks because if this becomes a norm it could result in lawsuits injury etc.

I’m gonna assume it was a combination of the material of the stock trucks as well as some sidewalk riding. I never hit anything too crazy and generally take good care of my expensive items. They had snapped underneath the board where the tooth slides into the slot that allows turning directly in the middle of the board, so I just assumed the stock trucks took too much shock for what I needed then to handle.

@@TheBooban it’s an amazing starter board and I’ll stand by that. I sold this thing some time back and have since upgraded to a 4wheel drive all terrain beast! But again this was a great starter board for learning how they operate and move. Besides the trucks breaking on me, which was just a freak accident, and they provided me a future discount. Backfire is dope.

@MoshMob

Depending how deep the sand and grass get. I’ve riden on dirt, gravel, sand and grass and haven’t had much problem at all. If you’re looking to ride on the beach with this, I’d say it may be good closer to the water where the sand is compacted, but not on anything too deep or loosely packed. Mine is still running strong after 3 months so I’ll keep ya updated, always check back in for more eSk8 content!
