Seriously dope. I was wondering if this was possible because I wasn't sure the G2 ESC could handle additional power. For sure I'm picking up another battery now.

so bassicly you gotta drill the new holes for the new battery - i got the newer g2 so idk what ESC i have? but thanks for this i was curious if we could and you proved it more or less, wish was a bit more in depth and showed the process of you adding or which battery did you match the one in side or did you buy two new ones (longer ranges?) i am new to building or adding to the board but the default battery dies so fast on 2nd gear :(

Very cool, looks very clean. Doesn't even look like a mod. Just curious, did you need to move the position of the cases in order for the extra battery to fit on the board?

Thanks man! The cases actually fit perfectly without any modification. The only thing I did was dremel a small hole big enough for the xt60 cable to channel through.

Thanks for the info.. Noticed pretty big chunk out of one of your rear wheels.. Having ridden the board alot can you please comment about the good or bad of the big backfire wheels..
@onel0wcubn5 жыл бұрын
Hey! It chunked like that when I was riding through NYC for a weekend. Potholes and other crap on the road. I've ridden it like that since then without any issues so I'm not worried about it. I have replacements but these are still good. The big wheels are a lot more comfortable than the 80's Better top speed too. I doubt I'll ever put the small wheels back on unless I'm on fresh paved flat roads.

Are ESC linked to certain power batteries and motors or is everything mechanical pretty much interchangeable in eboards? I want to use the wow go ESC, and controller with my backfire GS2 deck, motors, and gs2 battery pretty much.
@onel0wcubn5 жыл бұрын
You can swap out ESC's and remote. You just want to check and see if the connectors are the same for the motors from the esc.
@pedxing5 жыл бұрын
just curious... what battery did you start out with here? Looks like a person could juice to 28AH with the Ranger battery. =) might be fun. ;) I'm a bit ignorant, is there a programming tool that works with the G2S ESC that is available in the wild? my guess is that some tuning could be useful after making this mod.
@onel0wcubn5 жыл бұрын
These are two stock G2 batteries. I'm sure a Ranger battery would work if you made your own enclosure for it. I doubt there is software for the esc since most of them use eprom and can only be done in house.
@fischersgadgets49365 жыл бұрын
I'm doing this same setup and I'm wondering if you can charge both batteries separately with them connected together. The positive on the charge port and output plug are connected but the negatives are not.
@onel0wcubn5 жыл бұрын
Yes you can. I've noticed that they don't charge 100% when they are both connected. May be a safety feature on the BMS keeping them from topping off. When I disconnect they have a little bit of charging left.
@TheMillwright19805 жыл бұрын
@@onel0wcubn So to get 100% charge you have to remove the battery covers and disconnect the batteries and charge separately every time?
@onel0wcubn5 жыл бұрын

@@michaelm9061 If you do mount them both on the board be sure to buy another samsung. You don't want two different batteries running in parallel. Should be the same specs.
@michaelm90615 жыл бұрын
@@onel0wcubn thanks for the tip. Yeah probably not a good idea to mix specs. It looks like maybe a 5 minute swap since i have a container and charge port on both so will just carry one fully charged one as a spare. Should be able to get around 15 miles in fast mode and over 20 to 24 in economy mode between the 2 batts. I get around 12 on the backfire battery in economy mode average speed around 15mph. Hoping the samsung will get me more.
@FG-lb8wf Жыл бұрын
Glad you mentioned this! I just bought the Samsung for my brand new black. Gonna do the swap routine as well so that I can ride as hard as I want! I have 2 medium hills to climb one way at 3.5 mile distance. But my board has the extender bracket up front and 105mm cloud wheels. So it’s already eating into my power. I’m 190# with my gym bag on me now add the weight of the extra battery. If I can hit max speed for the duration I’ll be super happy! The speed limit to my destination and back is 25mph.
