Great coverage and really fun match. Nice balance in the commentary i thought. I enjoy Phil's style in the commentary box, but his jocular sparring style of interview is A LOT to put a runner up through after losing a big match! Brandon handled it like a gent. Maybe I'll sign up to this BG thing......

What was the most exciting match of this Backgammon World Championship 2024 ? Which one would you advise me to look at ?
@BackgammonGalaxy4 ай бұрын
The two most highstakes were the Main Event final, this match, and secondly the highroller final between Marc and Mochy.

I don’t like moves being called mistakes and blunders as they are only proven so in hindsight. If everyone played the probabilities then the same moves would happen all the time. There has to be room for gut feeling.

If Macklin had won, would it there be another match to let Moazed lose one time like Macklin did ? Is there a permitted loss for the undefeated player ?
@BackgammonGalaxy4 ай бұрын
No, in the world championship double elimination format, the undefeated winner receives a 5% of the prize pool prize, to compensate for the fact that there is only one final match, not two.

BG galaxy is a scam. I signed up, played the openings by the book, and was completely dominated by 4th roll every game

i reiterate....15 games in a row...dude's are stacking perfectly every roll. And if we race it's doubles after doubles.

Great match and great commentary by Ryan. As an intermediate player, I've learned a lot listennng to Ryan explaining positions and game plans.

I didn’t like Ryan talking over the other commentators and cutting them off mid statement just to say what he would play with the roll. Maybe just 2 commentators next stream. 3 is too much. Anyway, what a great week of backgammon! Thanks for the wonderful streams!

@@ryanrebelo133 just a note to say that one man's trash is another man's treasure. i thought all the commentators were fine but enjoyed it the most when you and marc would get into the weeds on a play and much preferred you just talking about the correct play (most valuable for me when you would talk about why, which i found you did often) rather than others just talking about fluff. great job and thanks for making it more entertaining with your commentary

I think it's right but your commentaries are usually spot on, Ryan. Try to talk slightly less, keep your voice for the interesting moves, and that will be absolutely perfect.

There is an element of luck in backgammon just as there is in poker, but take note that it's the same faces at the top in each game. You can play perfect poker all night long and still lose. I don't know if it's the same in backgammon as I'm not deep into it but with the element of luck involved I guess it is; a decent gammon player will tell us. With the element of luck in a game, there's always a chance that an idiot can win, but over the long term, skill will win in both of these games.
@danielwang77934 ай бұрын
@@TheRealPureBloodThe luck factor is there, but considering that you play longer matches to crown a champion, it evens out. Upsets happen, but not often.
@pausesmaths30864 ай бұрын
Playing the best at Backgammon doesn't mean winning, but does mean trying to achieve the highest probability of winning. And one day or another, by perseverance and pleasure of playing, you'll get the victory. It teaches you patience, humbleness and sportsmanship.
