The plaintiff rented a room in the defendant’s house but was never allowed to move in. The plaintiff asked for her money back, but the woman never returned it, so the plaintiff is suing. The defendant argues the plaintiff backed out of the agreement at the last minute when she was scheduled to move in.

Once again JM got this wrong. She can’t register the kid without the proof of address which was needed from the defendant!!! Come on JM are you so high on your throne that you forget that you have to show proof!!! The defendant refused to allow someone else bring her to move in, defendant said no! What happened to getting on the defendant about being in control over that…which prevented the plaintiff from moving in especially when she failed to go get the plaintiff and she admitted that she was IGNORING the calls and text. Horrible ruling!!!!

@Fribee83
@Fribee83 2 ай бұрын
To provide proof of address, all you need to do is provide a lease, that's it. The thing the defendant signed was literally all the proof she needed to enroll her kid. Plus if you have a relative stranger saying "Hey, pick up my kid after school" after they've already started a bunch of drama, why would you respond to them, especially if they're texting while you're at work driving? She ignored a single text before the plaintiff said she wasn't gonna move on and started to demand her money back. Some of ya'll are proving why you should never be in charge of any legal matters if you ignore all the evidence because it upsets you.
@bobberry1463
@bobberry1463 2 ай бұрын
Her ruling is base on the law. She can't just do whatever she want she follows the law. It not the landlord job to register your kid for the school if you move thst on you. She didn't deny her from moving in just to picking her up which is also fair. The problem is the plaintiff gave up all her rights that why your wording is very important she could had won if she didn't agree to everything. When asking for her dad to bring the stuff if she said no I need help and I need the key, than she would had won but since she agree to it at the time than it consider fair.

@Fribee83
@Fribee83 2 ай бұрын
That wasn't something they agreed on, it was something they discussed. The plantiff had wanted the defendant to pick up her kid "any day I was at work" which the defendant said she wouldn't be able to and to fix her schedule. The plantiff already knew about not bringing people to the house before she signed the agreement. Literally none of these things were the defendant stopping her from moving in, they were things that was known before signing the contract and putting the deposit down. The plaintiff just wanted free childcare and when she couldn't, she backed out. There's a reason even her own family didn't want her around.

@@Fribee83they discussed how the move-in would go. She was going to pick her and her things up. She didn't want anyone else moving her in. First red flag on the defendant's part. The plaintiff then wanted her to do extra on a drop-off/pickup for her Child's school. Red flag on the plaintiff's side. If the plaintiff never asked her to do the pickup/drop-off for the child I think we would be hearing JM ask her why she wouldn't return get money and calling her a scammer. I don't think she ever intended to let her move in. I've never had a landlord tell me who I can employ to move me and my things in.
@Fribee83

@@aprilpinketon2567 Yes, all of that happened before she signed the contract. A landlord can say that you can't move in until the full moon because their psychic said that's a day of good fortune and you have the right to not live there. I feel like it's the landlord fault because she didn't allow the girls dad to move her things in because she didn't want men to know where she lived also she promised her that she will pick her up with her things it didn't happen so the landlord broke the deal not her it was just excuses to keep the woman's 400 dollars I think the landlord made a promise she couldn't keep as far as the child was concerned it would've been a straight no your her mom you have to figure that out

The plaintiff didn't have a key from the landlord but was expected to move in? Do we even know if there was an actual place to move into? This could've been a bogus residence. How is this legit when no service was ever rendered? This was a complete scam upheld by law.🤦🏽‍♂

They both avoided future mishaps. One would be asking for more and more help and the other, if mad, would get the other beat up. At her age, threatening a mother with an 8 year old bodily harm with her "soldiers" should seek a professional to dig deeper into her issues. After 16, that crap is plain crazy. 16 and under only think they know better and are not life smart if they gang up. Besides, if you can't fight your own batyles, go sit down. Hahaha.

Only in America you can win money by people changing their mind on you... This is so ridiculous, what are the defendant's damages? Did she lose any rent that month? Was she even advertising the room for rent? It's so sad that she got to keep the money as a bonanza because I thought ''courts were not for that''... The plaintiff had no keys, not even a toothbrush in that home, and yet she's the one who lost her money because she changed her mind? Again, only in America...

I missed something on this. How was there a contract when there was not a set move in date? The defendant did didnot give a product in return for $400. The plaintiff was trying to move in, and the defendant declined. The defendant started ghosting the plaintiff, threatening her and being mean. The defendant is also dishonest. The situation became toxic. In order for the plaintiff to register her daughter in school, she will need proof of residency. How can she proceed if she is being ghosted? She may have dodged a haystack of problems if she did move.

Its always difficult when ur renting a room or having flatmates that are practically strangers. I mean even when you live with fanily its difficult . I use to rent a room from a guy that was from Brazil. It was horrible he would have loud big huge parties and I'd start work at 7am and had to get up at 5:30 am . And sometimes he would put up to 5 people in one bedroom that had bunks in it. I could be sleeping in my room and in the middle of the night and he would knock on the door and there would be some girl or couple from south America needing a place to stay. It was horrible. Then no one would clean the shower it would get all slimy and yuck i use to clean it on my days off. I was so happy when i moved out .

JM is out of touch. The defendant never gave her a key and you need a letter from the defendant as a landlord to register kid in school. But JM don't understand, she like to talk not listen, that's why she didn't come a therapist. Because she talks not listen out of touch with the people. In my 1st amendment right opinion. Plaintiff thank God that your daughter and you didn't move with the defendant she has a nasty personality.

I think that the plaintiffs should have got in some type of money. Because she was threatened, you know, like. Once you threaten me, you talk about you gonna sing your people, your soldiers, your goons to my job. I have every right to protect myself. I have every right to fill some type of way. I feel scared and cool if I'm not talking to you. And that type of way. Also, you're being mad disrespectful. And at the end of the day, she should have got emotional distress from those sex messages to she's gonna send soldiers to her job. That is a place where she makes some money. I don't like when the judge doesn't take everything into consideration. The landlord never gave her a specific date to move in, and didn't want the tenant's dad to bring her... The child had to be registered for school, and in order to be registered, if there's no lease, the landlord has to go to the school to fill out paperwork.... The judge said that she's responsible for getting her daughter, yet, the landlord is the Uber driver, so if they met because she was the tenant's transportation, then, why wouldn't that be taken into consideration that the tenant would still need the services of the landlord/Uber driver.

The defendant is wild, (and she answers questions that haven’t even been asked 😂), but I could tell almost immediately that the plaintiff is one of those people that you may try to do something for, but then, they want you to do *EVERYTHING* for them. The very personification of “Give them an inch, and they’ll take a mile”. Her asking this woman to pick up her child was 100% unreasonable, and she needs to learn that as that child’s mother, she has to do whatever she needs to do to make things work out in her favor.

The plaintiff is better off having not moved in. It's a $400 lesson but had she moved in, it really wouldn't have worked out. If the defendant doesn't want any men knowing where she lives (or was it anyone knowing her address?), the defendant would probably, no doubt, let the plaintiff and/or the plaintiffs daughter have company over at all. And probably would have been dictating the plaintiffs life as long as she remained a renter. Count your blessings, plaintiff. Consider your $400 a donation to a "charity". You're going to be happier without having that defendant in your life. Imagine how many other people she may have already done this to?
