Plaintiff (yellow shirt) gives defendant $800 for 2 tickets, flight, hotel, amenities. The plaintiff would of probably paid $1300 if she paid Southwest directly. Thats why people use travels agents. Because they know how to find deals through canceled flights. But this is irrelevant. The defendant takes $800. $500 goes towards her and her business. $300 goes towards a Southwest employee. The Southwest employee books a flight and send the travel agent the tickets and confirmation number. All is well. The mystery is in what the Southwest employees do, and tell the travel agents. If a plane ride for $1300 isn’t filled up. The airline will reduce the price to $200, to try to recover the money. The Southwest employee can also add their employee discount to make it even cheaper. Lets say $150. The Southwest employee takes the $300, gets the tickets, send it to the travel agent, they walk away with $150. All is well. This employee did not do that. They more than likely wanted to keep the whole $300. So they used multiple credit cards, which they probably stole from a different passenger, paid for a $500 ticket on one credit card. $800 ticket on a different credit card. Both got canceled. Then she put the whole $1300 on a third stolen card. Sent the confirmation to the travel agent and kept the $300.
