I’m with you on Target runs. I hate going there now. It’s disappointing to go there and see all the shelves are empty. On top of that, it’s hard to be “social distancing” when the lines are so long.

Here in Denmark they have put "keep your distance" stickers on the floor at the supermarkets to avoid people touching each other too much.

I'm glad you were able to get all your stuff at Target. Our store doesn't have much we need. I was able to get three books read for the readathon. Didn't complete all the challenges but that's okay. I had a family thing on Saturday so there went any reading I could have done.

Omg I feel the exact same way as you. I have such major anxiety with working in food service during this time and I'm so stressed. I literally had a panic attack today, and I'm so upset that the last few days of the Readathon were ruined because of the corona virus.

I’ve got major anxiety. My partner has an underlying health condition and it’s all I can do to keep him safe. I live in Hong Kong and the corona virus has been terrifying. Schools have been closed since January and I’ve been online teaching the whole time instead. Avoiding everyone I can! Stay safe and wash your hands and don’t touch your face at all. Look after yourself and make sure you look after family too 😘

I'm interested to see what your final thoughts are on Her Royal Highness. Also, I totally relate to your anxiety over the virus and feeling distracted because you're constantly checking for news. There was definitely more time I could've spent reading, but I couldn't stop going through social media and different news sites. I'm feeling a tiny bit better since now I know that the library system where I work is closed for at least 2 weeks. But it's still a super stressful time. So virtual hugs for everyone 💜

I’m in Denmark. When it started spreading here, it went horrifyingly fast. The government locked us down really quickly, for which I’m grateful. I have a spouse that is immunocomprised, so we are being very careful. We’ve been self isolating now since Thursday. The situation is really bad for all those people that are loosing their livelihood due to the lockdown, and I feel terrible for them. At the same time, I’m grateful that we have protective measures in place. It makes us feel a bit less powerless.

I had a similar problem during backlist readathon. I DNF'd 3 books but I also found a new author I like. I hear your point about why books might be on the backlist... but I've also read books I've had for a long time and loved them. I guess it's hard to tell sometimes.

I still have to get my car inspected this month. Not looking forward to it at all. Unfortunately, I still have work. Though I don't work with customers, I still hear about this from the rest of my coworkers. Management said we weren't shutting down unless it got worst in our area or businesses like Amazon and UPS shut too since we work closely with them.

I also read (my first) Karin Slaughter book for the Backlist - well I finished reading it on the first day. I read A Cold Faint Fear, which came out in 2004, so really backlist lol. I really liked it and want to continue with that series (it's #3 haha so now I am going back to read the first couple). It is very descriptive and disturbing but so good. I have 3 kids home ALL DAY LONG with this whole Corona virus going on, so it's actually been harder for me to read these past 2 weeks. But we are home and safe and that's what matters. May 3rd will mark 4 years since we had to suddenly evacuate our town due to a wildfire and we spent a month 5 hours south of our home not knowing if or when we'd be able to go home. This pandemic is different, obviously, and is affecting the world, not just our town, but I am just thankful to be home and safe :)

Glad I'm not the only one. I finished 2 books and got half way through 2 more for this readathon but I'm totally in a slump now.😣 I feel like 9/10 times readathons put me in a slump which is unfortunate. Especially now with everything happening I could use the distraction but I can not focus on reading at all.😫

I **just** got done reading 'We are the Ants', after you've talked about it so much. I loved it. 5/5. Thank you for the rec! Agree about Peter's mom. Yikes. Her treatment of Madison was uncalled for. I read 'Before We Were Yours' sometime last year. I also thought it would be really good, but I ended up struggling through it. I gave it 2/5 but that was probably generous. I read the Wayaward Pines series last year. I enjoyed it enough.

Hi! I’m in France and we’re pretty much the next Italy (maybe w/ Spain too and England if they keep their “herd immunity” strategy) and we’re learning a lot about the virus. So we don’t know why that is, there might be so many explanations (food, medicine, virus mutation, lies from other governments like Chine, etc) but we know that, a lot of young people are in really really bad condition too actually. In the region the most contaminated in France, some doctors in hospitals are warning young people especially because they are saying that 50% of cases are healthy young people in the hospital for very severe cases of covid-19. So people who are the most at risk are still elders and people with weaker immune systems and other problems but no one is safe. That said, by washing your hands, not touching your face, trying to stay one meter (idk how many feet that is, sorry) away from people, warning gloves if you come in contact with a lot of people and everyone who’s sick wears a mask, the chances of getting the coronavirus are much lower and, still, 80% of cases are benign and not all 20% left are deadly. Also, you can not show any symptoms for 14 days... and with drive thrus only, it’s going to be way safer bc you’re going to be further away from people and you can obviously wear gloves and it’s just really really safer so that’s great. I know this isn’t that reassuring but we have to try and not be afraid. We have to choose love over fear, and just really pay attention, take all the steps to avoid it for us and mostly for other people while still trying not to panic (hi meditation, taping, sport, etc). Anyway, I love your videos and I hope you stay healthy. I send you lots of love and thank you for every video you make, it’s just what I need right now! 😘 Also, I was kinda struggling to read this past 2/3 days too and I know A LOT of people who this happened too so, it seems to be something in the air, idk 🤷🏽♀️😂

This was my first ever readathon and because of the timing I decided to mix this readathon with historical romance readathon. So, technically, I’m still not done. Firstly, I read Guardian Angel by Julie Garwood and I enjoyed reading it. That’s second book in the series and last summer I read the third one. For me personally, third one in the series is better but I would still highly recommend the second one. After that I read Christmas Eve at Friday Harbour by Lisa Kleypas and I loved it. I instantly went to borrow second and third book in the series. After that I picked up Me before you and I had a breakdown reading it. It broke me completely and I could not function the next day. By the beginning of this week I finished On the island by Tracey Garvis Graves. Middle part was the best, beginning was a bit slow and at the end way to many things happened at once. I do not regret reading it because I knew this was the only book that I could calm myself down after Me before you. I’m still reading but it’s getting harder because of online school and all the stuff happening right now. So glad I participated in this readathon 😊

You don’t have to be so anxious about this, you have to stay safe in your house and that’s it. i’m in quarantine for 2 weeks now (i’m from italy 🇮🇹) and i can say i have more time to read now, i discovered your channel, i’ve read the unhoneymooners that you suggested and i’m working from home. Yes, i can’t see my boyfriend, i can’t go out for a walk, but this will pass, so don’t stress. It’s going to be ok at the end. I wanted to suggest you some books, i don’t know if you already read them but i’m in love, and i can’t think about anything else right now, it’s the trilogy of The bronze horseman from Paullina Simons (the bronze horseman, the bridge to holy cross, the summer garden) you will love them, anyone would love them 😍 Thank you for your suggestions, i’m going to choose another one right now 🥰

Don't get me wrong, I'm taking precautions! Ijust mean why worry about it? I'm not going to stop living my life because I'm scared. That'll just make it all worse and it won't be worth it. I try to relax and take precautions for myself and others, but I refuse to be panicky and scared.

I have Diabetes so I'm at risk for getting the Corona Virus, but I'm not worried. Its all meh to me. We've gone through so many epidemics in the last ten or fifteen years, that I just don't worry about it anymore. Not that I want to die or someone I love to die, but really if it happens, it happens. Its weird, cause I have panic/anxiety disorders and I'm fine right now. I may get panicky later on, but right now, I'm not worried.
