The Great Stink was an event in Central London during July and August 1858 in which the hot weather exacerbated the smell of untreated human waste and industrial effluent that was present on the banks of the River Thames. The problem had been mounting for some years, with an ageing and inadequate sewer system that emptied directly into the Thames. The miasma from the effluent was thought to transmit contagious diseases, and three outbreaks of cholera before the Great Stink were blamed on the ongoing problems with the river.🤣🤣🤣🤣

Believe it or not that is normal in Cambodia. Even the border guards who will happily get a few extra dollars from you don't usually take that much, despite this place being called scambodia. Even the bar-girls who will drain you of thousands if you're stupid enough, won't actually steal money from your wallet in their bar. But ice queens in your hotel room and cheap massage parlors are another thing, leave most of your money and phone in a separate location then.

If you go over to the subreddit called Cambodia, you'll actually realize that there are a lot of Americans having the same exact thoughts as you. The only "hard" part is that you need to have a plan, obviously, and a decent amount of courage, but once you finally decide to make that jump, it's actually not that bad haha. Like I said, you just need to get through the thought of "Should I actually do this?", and you'll see how great your decision was. Trust me, I've been living here for 10 years and it couldn't be better.

Lot less people-Phnom Penh was terrible last tme I was there but I believe now there a trash collection service rather than people going round collecting to make money by recycling.

Cleanliness is an act of pride. I am impressed how clean the trip had been. Amazing value as well. I will be in Cambodia in a day or two. Been feeling crap 8 days with a lung infection from hell, but I gotta hit the road and vlog as well. Cheers from Ho Chi Minh.

Cambodia was one of my favourite countries, if you head south to sihanookville you’ll find an island called Koh Rong, fantastic spot. Btw there are 2 islands one is a party island and the other is a lot more peaceful. Either way it’s a nice break away.
