Awesome, looking forward to the rest of the series ☺️ me and husband are looking to do some wild camping and I never even considered that the lower profile tents might be a bit claustrophobic!

Now's a great time to start venturing out, there's plenty of great budget kit out there to choose from. If you're looking for a two person tent for the both of you I would recommend something similar to my Naturehike Cloud Peak 2 tent. Whether it's within your budget or not, it's worth taking a look to give you an idea of space kzbin.info/www/bejne/aHy6hmeegbumh7c

Thank you Andy for your explanation. I’ve embraced this discipline just from one year and I love hiking. Just yesterday I received my first tent, I bought a basic Decathlon 2P of 30€ a better sleeping bag compared to the one I already had and a sleeping mat. I only need to upgrade my backpack but I didn’t want to spend that much, like you mentioned, I’m not sure if this does for me or not. I’ll try to camp in my garden and we’ll see. But thank you very much for all your advices, I’ve been looking around to find information from you experts. I’ve got so many places in the mountains here where I live that I’d love to spend the night in. I only need to try. Good luck and keep up your remarkable job💪🏿💪🏿 Mauri from Milan 🇮🇹

Loved the approachability of this video! You're right on. Getting started is really easy. I STILL camp in my yard even after years of experience! I live on 5 acres and sometimes I don't get out to camp enough. So I set up in the yard and hang out there for about a week! My house is there, but it feels good to get my camping fix! There are so many backpackers out there who make it seem like the more expensive the better..which isn't true always and is not always great for beginners. Especially if you're not some high-tec explorer, and simply enjoy site seeing in remote areas. Renting gear is also great for getting a feel for what works for you. It can help decide what pieces fit your camping style and what you want to invest in later on. You can even ask the associates at the rental place about their suggestions and tips on how to use the equipment.

Good tips. Garden camping is brilliant for beginners, or for old boys like me who haven’t used their gear for more than a decade.

It doesn’t matter who you are, everyone loves to pitch a tent in a garden!

tbh, Osprey backpacks are not the beginners level. Don't get me wrong, I love osprey, I got several of their rucksacks but there are twice cheaper options for someone who is not sure about camping yet.
@BackpackingUK3 жыл бұрын
Sorry, that’s the only backpack I’ve got at the moment. I was meaning the size of the pack rather than an Osprey. I’ve put some links to budget backpacks in the description.

I don't know about the UK, but in the US there is a chain of stores named REI and allows you to return gear within one year even if its been used -- then REI puts the returned item on sale with a note saying why it was returned -- I was at the store in NYC last week and they had an medium size Osprey Atmos AG 65L for $189 --- still a lot of money, but the normal price is $270 -- so a huge savings -- the reason it was returned was because it was the wrong size -- they decided they needed a large -- so used one trip, not really dirty and a nice discount

Great video , new subscriber, have watched most of your videos and have purchased quite a few of the items you have reviewed, jetboil , rab fleece , Salomon . But for the tent I went for the msr elixir 2 weight is over the 2kg but that’s ok . Brilliant tent . Look forward to the next videos .

Cheers 👍 The Elixir 2 is what a couple of my mates have (see kzbin.info/www/bejne/o2qnlJ2ohrd9g9k). They may not be as light as the Hubba Hubba NX2 but they are much better in the cold!

If you can afford them, Mountain Equipment Ibex are excellent. They are really popular so available in lots of stores, shop around and try and get a deal!
