I'm so glad I found your videos. I also have some long distance thru hike goals and also not a spring chicken. I love that you are honest about the rough parts of hiking and the thoughts of turning back. Alot of people gloss over that. Hearing you have those same thoughts encourages me to keep going on bad days.

Really enjoyed the video Jon, nature sure threw in a few challenges for you, good on you for not quitting because it would have been the esy way out, like you said you have to just suck it up and push on. Black snake is ok..they eat poison ones..but i still don't like snakes..for knee pain "use sport bandage which you can find at big 5 or ride aid or amazon.." they like 10" long 2" wide..works well..

Hey Jon, can you tell me which map of the BSF were you using that showed the back country camping sites? I have the Nat Geo map and what is available on the park service site but they don’t show the circles for back country camp sites. Enjoyed both videos!
