Backpacking Goat Lake, Washington

June 20th we took to Mountain Loop Highway and found the Goat Lake trailhead. This is the perfect hike for a beginner backpacker looking for a taste of the Pacific Northwest. With campsites close to the magnificent lake, you will have views, easy access for water, and friendly neighbors! If you are staying for the night I highly suggest bushwhacking around the lake as far as you can. Here you will get even better views, spots all to yourself, and spectacular waterfall sightings.

Hi Harish! It's a beautiful hike. All you need is a Northwest Forest Pass for parking. This trail does not need any backpacking permits.
