They were delicious! The meat is very firm and went great with the Ramen. I also caught some menpachi that night but couldn't get any on film. If I could, I would've brought a bigger pot to do a fish fry out there!

You should use your pocket knife to pick opi hi and taking out the meat I like your sai min good idea .

I only had one pocket knife that trip and the blade was not strong enough to pry them off the rocks so I had to make due with tent stakes. I had a blast down there either way. Plans to head back and do some more exploring 🤙

I'm using the Kuiu Pro LT 5500 pack system. It's used predominantly in the hunting community but it's very light and allows you to pack in a lot more. It's also very modular so you can add or remove pouches and other accessories. For example you can also buy a smaller or larger bag and replace the existing bag on your frame with a few simple clips
