We were on opposite sides of a very large park, but that area looks amazing as well - I guess I will have to plan another trip eventually. @@jemerson39

Incredibly well-composed. Emotional. Long a dream trip of mine that seems reachable and worth doing. Nice to see that Megalite out there; I have carried mine on so many trips for so long.

Thank you. I try to capture, share, and remember some of the emotions from my trips. That tent was great - the four person version was a little heavy and bulky, but the extra space was so nice. Let me know if you do ever take the trip and have any questions - I am no expert, but would be glad to share my experience from this trip. @karukun0212

17 days is a lot of food and consumables! And a lot of trash by the end! Just started planning for my half as long trip in June.
@teatimewithja

We were carrying about 30 lbs. (13.6 kg) of food each at the beginning of the trip, and it was not really enough. We kept the trash volume down by only bringing a few of the single-serve packaged meals. But a week-long trip in the same area would still be amazing. What area are you considering.

Awesome video! How did you plan where you were going to hike? Any maps I should look into if I wanted to do this?

Thanks. it is an awesome place. So, we used Caltopo to map out routes and look at how steep passes were, as well as reading trip reports from others in the same area. From Caltopo, you can select the area and scale you want, and get it printed through Mountyn on waterproof paper. That worked really well, because we got exactly what we wanted, but I do think the lead time on Mountyn printing is kind of long.

It was VERY different from the dense deciduous forests I am used to, but we drove about 150 miles (241 km) north of the artic circle, so it makes sense. Also, those shrubby things are technically "trees" - a type of willow I believe.

Imagine the ineptitude of a yabby beating on a rock in a creek because it can't feed it. There's something distinctly brilliant in nature's awareness of the stupidity of abuse.
