Loved the videos of this and Marvel lake! Makes me want to go now! I've done some canoe camping, but never an overnight backpacking. I live in Calgary and was looking at Yoho lake. What are the sites like? Are they all together or spread out a bit? Are there bear lockers and an outhouse? Looks like it was chilly in the morning in July, in thinking of a weekend in September 🤪😁

I’m so happy we could inspire the urge to get out an explore the beautiful backcountry! This campsite is called Yoho Lake and then other was Marvel Lake (BR13), you can find both on the Parks Canada reservation website; I’d say either would be a great option as a first time backcountry trip because the hikes in aren’t so strenuous! The sites are typically square “tent pads” which are hard ground to pitch your tent on, some are grouped together and some are more private within the trees. It’s typical to have anywhere between 3-15 tent pads at eat campsite. Both campsites were equipped with either bear lockers or a pulley system to hang food and all campsites either have an outhouse or a vault toilet. Yoho Lake campsite was at a higher elevation than some of the other places I’ve slept, so it was definitely chilly... bringing warm, thermal layers and a good sleeping bag is always a good move in the Rockies. Thanks for all your great questions, I hope I was able to provide some clarity. I will be posting more informative videos and tutorials in the coming months about backpacking and hiking; I would love it if you subscribed to my channel! 😊
