We also loved the wildlife sightings of the whales, dolphins, Foxes and Island Scrub Jay's. Thank you for showing us and also excellent job with the camera work and editing! You guys are fun, informative, and funny! My guess for next stop after your food will be Pinnacles NP or Big Sur. Looking forward to wherever you end up!

i am new to their channel (as of Dec. 14, 2024) and just started binging bc the first video i came across and watched was them up here in Alaska (their Talkeetna video) and at the end they mentioned another video from up here so i decided to go to the actual channel. i found this playlist of their Journey TO Alaska (just made it to this video since watching in order, nonstop, back to back, lol) and once i finish this playlist im going to watch ALL the Alaska videos (then the rest of their entire channel after that! LOL!!) i was born, raised, and STILL live in Anchorage Alaska 🥰 unfortunately though, ive not had opportunities of any sort to even go check out my OWN HOME STATE! so they are seeing things and going places IVE never even seen or gone to in my 38 years! so i enjoy watching any and all types of videos that are from up here so i can see and experience stuff vicariously through other peoples videos LOL!! 😆 ive only done a few memorable things, like, in 5th grade we had a fieldtrip from Anchorage to Seward and we spent a night or two IN the Sealife Center and also went on the Kenai Fjords boat tour. during 6th grade camp we stayed at the Victory Bible Camp cabins (maybe Palmer area?) and one day hiked all the way up a HUGE mountain where we were taught about and got to find real fossils. and on another day we drove onto and also hiked/walked around on a glacier. probably the only other thing is, also back in either grade school or jr. high school, we hiked up to see Thunderbird Falls (which is not TOO far from Anchorage). its funny though bc eventhough i was born and raised here, i actually DONT like the outdoors like hiking and camping 😆 id much rather be in my home lol but it also seems the older i get, the more i feel like im missing out 😕🤔 so, maybe one of these days (if i am well enough physically and finacially) i will try to get out there and do things so i dont end up regretting NOT doing it when i was able to... 😊❤🥰 Anyway, sorry for babbling away lol bye for now!! -jenn from Alaska❤

I saw this on Facebook first, then headed straight here. I was really hoping you'd visit the Channel Islands National Park. The fee structure for the ferry ticket is very similar to what we have the UK in that if it's a day trip its cheaper, and I've never understood why. Loved the shots of the sea life from the ferry, at first seeing the seals I was like 'yeah I'd expected something like this', then the dolphins were like 'whoa that's cool' but then the whale just knocked my socks off. ❤😍 Good to know about the need for sea sickness tablets as I am rather susceptible and this National Park is very firmly on my list. Your breakfast bagel brought back memories of Yellowstone for me. We made up a bunch of jam bagels as we were staying in the cabins that didn't have a kitchen and unlike sandwich meats, wouldn't go off. If you feel the sachets aren't enough, I'd recommend making them up in the van using a jar before setting off. 100% agree with you guys that the foxes are just adorable. That view at 16:35 was spectacular. I can understand why you wanted to detour off there. It was amazing that you were able to pick up the Sea Lion sound there too - at first I thought you'd come across other hikers, which would have made sense given how pretty it was there. 11 miles with all your gear and how undulating the trail was, was such good going. I love your backpacking videos, but when combined with a park I'm really eager to visit, this has been such an awesome thing to add to my Sunday... and should I even mention the 'Cream Crackered' comment from Adam at the end?! Best cockney rhyming slang that ever there was!!!
@AdventuresofAplusK2 жыл бұрын
You're the best! We were confused by the fee structure for the ferry too. Our guess is that maybe since we are carrying more gear than a day hiker? All the wildlife was amazing! We figured we'd see some, but didn't know we would see that much! That's a good idea with the food. Next time I think we'll try to premake some stuff ahead of time. We have thought of it before and ran into trouble with soggy tortillas, but bagels will hold up much better! Potato Harbor is gorgeous isn't?! We're glad we could be a bright spot on your Sunday! Next time you're on this side of the pond you have to have Channel Islands to your trip! It's well worth a few days out there. I (Adam) have been wanting to sneak that in for the longest time since hearing it on your vlog. The Cockney rhyming slangs are so funny and that one was for you!

Mainly because I am worried something is going to happen to those groves before I get a chance to see them if I wait any longer. Anyways, I am well aware of Channel Islands but it wasn’t too high on my list of the CA National Parks. Wow, was I mistaken. It looks magical. Thank you for highlighting it. May have to see what I can do get out there if we make this trip happen next year.

You always have some of the best and most thoughtful comments so please comment away! We're hoping to do the Sierras next year as well! If you can swing the Channel Islands we highly recommend it. It's a unique park!

Excited to watch the video! I’m pretty sure we were in Joshua Tree when y’all were. My wife and I went there on February 20-27th. We were amazed whenever it snowed! So unexpected

Beautiful video. I went to high school in Santa Barbara and we took a boat/camping trip to Santa Cruz. We stayed somewhere to the west of your area, possibly Diablo Harbor.

Great video the channel Islands, I once lived in Santa Barbara and used to go fishing out on the backside of them. If you guys are going up the Oregon coast I’m in Florence on a lake you guys are welcome to stop by and do your laundry and go kayaking on Siltcoos lake.
