Neat, my buddy and I did Saturday Night Lake in 1978. We had a coyote or wolf visit our tent that moon filled night. Relieved itself on our tent fly. You could see it's silhouette crystal clear. It was incredible. Next morning after we broke camp, there came some heavy thumping off in the bush, either someone was trying to scare us, or it was a large mammal.

Wow that's an incredible story! Peeing on your tent! You can't make this stuff up. It only happens in the woods :-) thanks for sharing!

Another great video I love loons such a haunting sound they make, sometimes wish they would sleep in lol We're so lucky to be surrounded by wildlife in my neck of the woods. I'm looking forward to more of your adventures. Stay safe and humble

Thank you so much! I hadn't heard loons make that particular call before so it was a bit confusing to me. Must be a mating pair I'm guessing. When I got back a good friend of mine looked it up in indeed this is another loon call. I'm used to hearing the more haunting lonely one. Yes the birds are early risers! But it is just absolute wonder to be out in their world with them. Lots more to come this summer if my body cooperates ha ha! Always grateful always humble :-)

I did this hike when it was 42 degrees in Jasper in June a few years back. Also that bit past minnow lake on the way to saturday night lake was like a jungle forest in terms of humidity.

Wow that's hot! I'll take a little spitting rain and cool temperatures any day over that :-)

Haha! My speech can be a bit unintelligible at times I've realized! Thank you for the happy Father's Day :-) I really appreciate it! I actually was on the trail. Yes it's been a very cold spring. All the snow we had in the Calgary and Canmore area was a real delay to things. And I am sitting out a winter storm warning in Montana as I write this! Looking forward to warmer weather!! Enjoy your trip to Jasper it's amazing as you know :-)

Oh what a difference a few weeks makes. Dead fall over the trail…check. Rain and hail….check. Snow? Check. Did I mention the deadfall over the trail? Omg. Crazy. But fun.

Another June storm of sorts! Last year it was snow, this year it was wind. Jasper just can't catch a break. Glad you got out there despite it and enjoyed some time in such an amazing place.

Nice video, my friend. Isn't it awesome to have a camp all to yourself? Thanks for sharing your Dash!!! - Davey.

Thanks Davey - yes it is!! Rare, but always fun when it happens because I tend not to make a ton of noise, and it increases the chances of seeing some wildlife.

Great, easy trail to hike. It looks like the weather decided to cooperate. Lucky you!
@HowestheHike4 ай бұрын
Yeah the weather was a bit iffy all around that hike and I got super lucky with the exception of a tiny bit of rain. It's a great easy beginning of the season getting in shape trail that's for sure!

@@HowestheHike Glad to hear it! Let's hope the smoke stays away and the only thing we have to deal with is the occasional rainfall.
@HowestheHike3 ай бұрын
Totally agree with that! It's looking like we're going to have a reasonably normal summer at this point given how June has played out. Fingers crossed :-)

LOL I have been chased by a Sprouse grouse before. They can be quite aggressive, a game of angry birds I didn't win. 😂

Oh my gosh that's a funny comment! Thank you. Yeah, the females typically run away, this guy was having none of it!!

Hi Stuart, I stumbled upon your videos last summer and watching you and your daughters do the Fundy Footpath inspired me to do it this year (fellow New Brunswicker!). It truly was a lot steeper than videos do it justice lol! I typically buy my gear at MEC in Moncton and I am wondering if I mention your code in store if that works? Or is it just online? If it’s just online my next purchase I will be sure to order online to support the channel! Thanks for the inspiration and happy trails!

That is awesome! I'm so glad you're getting out there! With regard to Mountain Equipment Company, use my link to buy your stuff for in-store pick up or delivery. You can't use it in store. But I really appreciate you thinking of me!

Good night out. I love listening to the loons. I wish we had them in my neck of the woods.

They are absolutely stunning to listen to but far far louder than you would think!
