Shoshone Lake has been on my list for years, and I finally make it all the way around! Starting off at DeLacey Creek Trailhead I set up for a three night lollipop but ended up shortening it to two, with campsites at Moose Creek 8M1, and Basin Bay Point 8R5. The Spectacular Delay Creek Campsite, 8S2, is one I need to return to and spend some time!
The lake is absolutely stunning, the Shoshone Geyser Basin is absolutely epic, and the sense of peace and solitude most welcome!
But watch out for the mosquitoes!

Thanks so much! Glad to have finally completed this one. It is gorgeous along the lake and through the thermals. The only benefit of that forest walking was seeing the 1000 miles CDTmarker! So all in all, a great loop.

It's a gorgeous area. Glad I finally got to see it. Based on some comments years ago when the girls were hiking with me, I moderate all comments. Obviously I approve 99.99% of them but turn that feature on to protect my girls.
