We have ventured north of Anchorage to a GORGEOUS area called Hatcher Pass! And for the first two days in the area, we backpacked to the Mint Hut, which was a grueling trail full of mud, water, and wasps, but led us to some of the most EPIC views we have ever seen. We hiked to some striking blue lakes and spent a beautiful night tent camping, surrounded by mountains. It was one of our favorite Alaska memories yet!

That's good to include information about when the footage was shot, exactly for those reasons that people want to get ideas about current conditions. One time I asked Kraig Adams about it and he just snapped back like "dude, it says right there when I posted it". Maybe he didn't realize people can post videos from years ago if they with to. Oh well...

What a great rendition and great memory of a place at which some of us spent so much time. The hut still looks the same. What so many people often refer to as 'back in the day', some of us MCA members would spend Thanksgiving up there by skiing in and hauling small sleds, loaded with food including a turkey. As you may know, the 'Bomber Glacier' got its name because some military aircraft crashed on that glacier and is still there. One one occasion I pulled one of the light bulbs, took it home and hooked it to a battery. It still worked, which is amazing after a 'landing' like that. Keep up the joyful reports : - )

Kona is so sweet in the tent. The wasps weren't fun! This hike was tough, but definitely worth it!

What a great video! It was so nice to watch it with Mamo when I visited her today! She said, “there’s no other people around.” She seemed to really enjoy it! I’m glad my girl did okay with the wasp stings and with that fast moving water! Don’t do that again! 😳 loved all the drone shots and the far away shots of you two! What an epic hike, camping spot and hut! Safe travels!

@@AdventuresofAplusK I know she enjoys watching your videos like everyone else. When I moved from Florida to Alaska, I had to drive by myself but I shared my gps location the whole way with her, and several others. She and my aunt had the best time every single day just 'watching' me travel on the map and they didn't even have a video to watch. 😄

That slog of a hike, makes me think of Gates of the Arctic National Park and what I have heard about how it is backpacking through there. You guys did a great job getting through the hike and showing us the beauty of the place. I hope those stings didn't stick around too long!

Another incredible video! Bummer about the wasp stings! I got my first sting (on my neck!) a couple months ago just sitting at Rodeo Beach after a hike in the Marin Headlands and it HURTS! I was a big baby about it, so you're a dang trooper being as cool and calm as you were after 3 or 4 stings! Can't wait to see where your next adventure takes you!

You know how much I love your backpacking videos ❤ We've just got back from another week in the Lake District and we did a hike that began at a National Trust car park, and hiking through National Trust land - and there was a blackboard in the car park saying wild campers were welcome, and could they just leave a note on their dash saying when they expect to be back, and donations are welcome. I had no idea until I was there, so no tent or anything, but I think it's a bit of a game changer. May need to begin watching these backpacking trips of yours much more closely for tips! Loved your editing of the clips of you 'putting the tent up' 🤣 Can not believe you found Adam's sunglasses, that was amazing. Sorry to hear about the wasps for you Kathryn, like you, I've not yet been stung by a wasp or bee, and like you, I've become very fearful for what it must truly feel like! Still not sure what to think of the amount of mud and water on this trail though you guys are so ace with it!

Oh the Lake District looks so dreamy! We hope you can get back there and do a trip! If you need any recommendations ask away! We'll help anyway we can The wasps weren't fun, but she powered through! The mud sure added a special element to the trip! 😂

Adam and Kathryn,...we had 50 push-pins in our USA wall map (of the "Lower 48") before your Alaska trip. We had to buy more push-pins after watching your Alaska videos. There are 10 new pins around Anchorage alone! THIS is one of them 05:47. Kathryn, glad to see you handling the wasp event with outward calm, cool resolve.
