Backpacking Yosemite's Hetch Hetchy Loop

My friends and I did a 4-day backpacking trip in Yosemite and this is sort of a documentary-style slow moving video of somewhat random events that happened during the trip. You'll see I have some exciting wildlife encounters along the way. This might be a boring video for most. I intentionally went light on the editing so I could come back and watch this later on the better remember the trip.

These bears seem to be very desensitized to human hikers. Luckily they don't pose much of a risk.

I was just at Wapama Falls 10 days ago and it was raging! Eerie (but normal) to see it all dried up in the late part of the year. Thanks for the video!

It was heavy for sure hahaha. He prides himself in doing GoRuck events and whatnot so I think that's partially just a way to continue training. Army mindset ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Awesome vid! That bear had no fear of you whatsoever! I find that both cool and terrifying haha, that's why I always carry bear spray, usually black bears are cool but you never know. I have been all over Yosemite but never to this area, thanks for sharing! Also, how did you like that Deuter pack? Seems like you can get some great deals on them and they look comfortable. Surprisingly I wasn't that scared of the bear. I think talking with the ranger at the very beginning and him assuring us that they're just after our food helped settle my mind around bears there. The Deuter pack is great! It's one of the few that adjusted to fit me really well and I definitely didn't have a well adjusted/correctly sized pack before this one. This is the only trip I've done with it so far but it did great on this trip and I generally like the design of it. Thanks for watching and dropping a comment!

What time of year did you go? I’m headed there in June!

Mid October. It got pretty cold at night but it was a cool time to go otherwise. Wasn't hard to get the permits according to my friend David in the video.
