I love this videos. I have been traveling for 10 month now and I use your backpacking budget sheet and it’s the best. I promised myself to always be open about my finances so each day I share a template with my daily budget so people can have a sense of how much it cost to travel. I really wish they where more travelers who speak freely about this topic. When I was first dreaming with the idea of traveling the world there was not much info telling me how much it will cost, so this is really good. That more than just showing people that “they can do it to” you show them how to

I think this is my first time commenting at one of your videos, not sure 🤔 I have been binge watching your videos over the last days and I love your personality, spirit and transparency 🥰🤩 For this video: Budgeting is a real thing, and seeing how others do it is a good preparation and good learning experience 🥰 I can actually don’t travel. I am disabled and sick, but I just love your videos and just you, and good time use to see your videos 🥰 I have even seen 6-8 year old videos, and I know you would love kids before 30 and you are getting there, and thing can still happen, but if not, that is okay too 💚 You will find your man when the time is right 😊 Love from Johanne, Norway 🇳🇴

I loved that your English is so clean. Thank you for making this video for youtube.. it was excellent to help me think about how much id need to spend for a 2 week trip to Thailand. I'm going next month. I've never gone abroad for the sole purpose of doing nothing but exploring and relaxing, so I'm excited and feeling guilty too (so many things I need to get done here; the audacity!) 😂 Never hostelled so I'm glad to know there are fancier hostels too. I can't dance but I really want to figure it out. I could for like 2 to 3 minutes, but how it's done for more than 10 boggles me 😂 The hint to more serious diving ideas made me the most happy. Apologies for the long note. Cheers, Miss! 🎉

Hi thank you so much for this video! My friend and I are planning a 1 month trip to Thailand next year and my idea for the budget (excluding flights) was about £900-1000 per person. We might not spend that much but, because it is our first backpacking trip we want to make sure we have extra in case we need it. We will be sharing twin rooms rather than hostels but hopefully it shouldn't be much more expensive as we will be going for cheaper hotels. Also we don't drink alcohol so that should save quite a bit 😅. Other videos I've seen, people seem to be spending quite a bit more so I was worried we wouldn't have enough but this was really helpful so thank you!

Thailand is a great place to travel and live like a rock star for not much money. The wonderful part of how you traveled is that most of the money you spent went right to small business owners rather than huge corporations. You got to fully experience the place and have an epic time while doing it. Well done!

Thanks so much for this video! I will be travelling in Thailand on my sabbatical and in my mind had budgeted £1,500 a month and was worried that wouldn't be enough. I think we have quite a similar style of travel expect I don't dive, but also wouldn't feel comfortable driving a moped so will have to spend more on other transport I guess. But after seeing this I'm going to allocate some of my Thailand budget to my New Zealand budget which I think will be much harder to stick to. Also loved seeing your sponsor - I hadn't heard of them and that is such a useful service. Thanks!

I'm a Kiwi and would absolutely recommend you increase your budget for here. Groceries are mega expensive at the moment. In Auckland you're looking at $NZD 15-20/ meal at the cheapest end in a restaurant (which would likely be Asian, we've got incredible Chinese restaurants). Beers/ house spirits are $10-12 in a bar. Queenstown is pretty comparable for prices, and Wellington too. Smaller cities in the regions are generally cheaper. Plenty of work available though if you want to pick up some casual/ short term work to not destroy your budget.
@seannas-world
@seannas-world 2 жыл бұрын
@@RussisSkuxx Thanks for the advice! I’m budgeting around NZ$7,000 for 2 months. But it will be one month of traveling around, staying in hostels and camping and hiking, probably eating out 1 meal a day and supermarket food the rest of the time. Then another month staying with a friend and chilling so that will be a bit cheaper. It seems like a lot of money but I think it will still be very tight.

Koh Lipe definitely is more expensive! I even found basic groceries at 7/11 sometimes to be double the price 😕 While I was there the hostel owner once told me everything is so expensive because the island is so far South and everything has to be shipped from the mainland. Also, all electricity on the island comes from diesel generators which explains the hostels being more expensive there. Still worth it tho, one of the most beautiful islands I visited 😁

My 6 months travelling around every country in SE asia i budgeted £6k or £1k per month. I stayed in a mixture of budget hostels, homestays, private hotel rooms etc. My aim was to just do as many activities and experiences and see as much as i can and even though i did so much i actually did all of this for £5k. Big thing for me is i dont drink and i loved just eating the street food so my food cost was pretty low. For under £1k a month you can easily eat and live well doing excursions everywhere you go i se asia.

Can you please explain how you took 3 internal flights which only cost £109??? I'm in the North of Thailand currently and finding flights to other areas around £60 once baggage is added!

I guess it depends on where you’re flying and when you book! Also of course, always more expensive when baggage is added, often it’s cheaper to fly with Thai airlines or Thai smile where the baggage is automatically included!

Is 3 grand considered a lot ?? I was planning to go for 2 months hoping to save 5 grand for it thinking I’d have to be a little stingy with it

If you’re backpacking and staying in hostel dorm rooms, then 3 grand is very generous for 2 months! With 5 grand, you can live and travel pretty luxuriously out there!

Thinking of backpacking banana pancake solo for 5 or so months in dorm hostels and all that. The thing is, I'm 18 and honestly a bit of an unusual person with some autistic traits. What do you think?

Make sure u go for 4 bed dorms and always have a way out of things so you can be on your own to renerate. Try finding cheap double bed rooms if you need to be alone. Do not force yourself to mingle, choose who you interact with and take time to build trust. But make that step too yourself and even if it feels uncomfortable, because the people you can meet are true extra gems of travelling. And remember you are authenic and not unusual, you are really special, use your extra abilities for you and go for it! Find someone like you to partner up with and enjoy one of the best times of your life ever! (Been around the world backpacking duo and solo and yeah I can check that spectrum box too but I hate labels, just be you!)
