Damn wasn't expecting holly to keep all the reciepts including the Toilet tax one lol.....for me i knew what i started with and how much i had left in the end and all in i spent about £5k including all my flights travelling 6 month around every country in SE Asia. So anyone doing a longer backpacking trip in SE asia thats your basic/frugal backpacker budget but i did do a lot of experiences and activities.

@@HollyGabrielle 2017. My return flights were with Eithaad from UK for £345 then i got an airasia asean pass for about £80 for all my internal flights. I did alot of overland travel using local transport, stayed in cheap hostels and homestay experiences and hotels when i could find really good deals. Also i don't drink, otherwise with what people spend on drinks at bars and clubs you probably need to add a few thousand more.

You should definately travel all over japan using a month long JR train pass unless if you're not a train person then just do you.

I did not want to spend too much money when I went to Cancun Mexico with my credit card, but I was pressured to do it such as those excursions, the jewelry in Isla Mujeres, and the anti-aging creams at Cancun airport. Even I got angry and irritated and told them that it was too expensive and wanted to leave, they would not let me leave and did not take my "No" as a No. Now my sister and brother-in-law are very angry with me for spending too much money when I was pressured to do so. The shop people just would not leave me alone. They manager of the cream shop in Mexico grabbed me into the shop, put the anti-aging creams on me when I do not even have wrinkles nor sagging skin, and I have a very few lines on my face and would not let me leave when I wanted too. He forced me to buy creams especially when I told them that they were too expensive and he just grabbed me. He hugged me and touched me when I did not want to be touched.

You need to learn to stand up for your self. I went to Cancun and just ignored the sales people. Don't speak or look at them.

191 for travel insurance is hugely expensive. I get mine including snowsports and all the services for a 1/4 of the cost. Make sure you shop around!

I agree. Seemed v expensive to me too. As far as flights go it usually only takes me about 10 mins to find the cheapest and best flights using Google flights and then buying directly from the airline. Sky scanner is good but really no need to use it.

I think its an annual insurance as well. The price is half of what I paid for my UK travel insurance. I think its not too much considered the details she gave, it definitely not a basic insurance.

Damn your travel insurance is expensive! I pay about that for 12 month comprehensive worldwide insurance (with add-on for my wedding rings and electronics) 😳
