How do you afford to travel? - I now earn a full time living through creating these KZbin videos, affiliate links, selling digital products and my clothing line. Is travelling solo safe? - I would argue the answer is almost always yes! As long as you use your common sense and you follow your own government's guidelines about travelling in that country. I have made several videos on backpacking safety on my channel.
Do you have plans to settle down? Yes, I'm currently saving to purchase my first property in the UK and I'd love to have children one day. I doubt I'll ever live a completely 'conventional' lifestyle by society's standards though, as I often have my own preferred way of doing things.

I decided to solo travel when I was 26 when I couldn't find a friend who would want to do the same travel as me, so I decided I had to make it happen for myself or I would live my life waiting for a partner or a friend to travel with me.

It's the best to exchange your money for the local currency before you leave on the airplane in my opinion. Definitely won't be an option for all of your audience, but most young people do live in big cities. Then a personal tip, is I would say have a general idea of how you think the trip will go, but fill in the details once you arrive. Know where you want to go, how long it will likely take to do everything, and how to transport yourself for intra-community travel. Then when you arrive you can ask the staff where you are staying on their opinions on whatever you want to do, transportation options, etc.

Cannot agree more on good quality sunglasses and sunhat. I damaged my eyes not using sunglasses in high altitudes and also damaged the top part of my hair not using a sun hat! So it really pays off to have these 2 things. As for the raincoat, it really depends what country you are going to. During my 9 months trip there was only 1 time when I wished I had a rain coat but I survived and never needed it again, so no point for me bringing that extra thing. But if you going to a country where it rains a lot and especially if you go during a rain season of course it is worth having it :)

CONGRATS Kristian. great video. have a great time in Portogal nice choice. still take your time- and dont let this trap you-you are always the same soul with same aspirations you just need to learn to incorporate new things into it. in no case if you want to have kids- do not be with the wrong men just in order to do that- true love and friendship - never comes like this. go to the dr to do advance testing just to see that there isnt a specific problem and freeze your eggs - it would give you more peace of mind... or do it alone if time is an issue at a certain point- anyway- when youll be 40 youll realize waw i have 10 more before things get really more complex maybe

Happy belated birthday! I've only embraced solo travel since reaching my thirties (36 now), and it's changed my life, the best thing someone can do, I wish I'd started earlier like you did. On the hostels, I often stay in hostels for the social aspect, but I always get private rooms, because I'm worried dorms are a 20 year olds game, is this just me over thinking it? How do you find the age range in hostel dorms, varied or all under 30? I'm going to Thailand for a few months in March, I'd planned to look for privates in Hostels, but staying in dorms would massively help me stretch my budget further, am I too old for that though?

downside to hostels is sleeping with random people. The noises + the idea of people doing stuff to me or my stuff in my sleep would ruin my sleep completely.

Not me laying in bed in Melbourne, after 5 years of watching you, after my first solo trip 2019 everything changed. And I found you and my favorite 40 liter backpack 😂 Can’t believe I’m actually in Australia after all my other trips the last years. I really did it. Haha! But with a bigger backpack but it only weighs 13kg and I’m so proud of myself 😂 even tho I should have brought 2 pair of leggings because it’s so Cold! 😂 It’s been a journey and thank you for taking us with you ❤🎉 Lagos and portugal is an all time Favorite!
